Summary: Heavy and a tad bulky, but hey... it's a gaming laptop. After reformatting the computer and reinstalling the drivers/firmware, I have had no problems. One single dead pixel towards the left center of the screen.
Pros: GTX 570m! INTEL i7-2670QM! (HYPERTHREADING!) FULL 1080P LCD MONITOR! FULL KEYBOARD!
Cons: 2 hard drives(?) Super hot when playing games. Slower ram. Build is mediocre.
Pros: Fast hard drive (for mechanical). 12 GB of RAM - great!
Cons: Processor is meh. On par with other good laptops, but meh. Overheated like crazy - fundamentally flawed design. Not enough space for ventilation. Below average construction - Flimsy keyboard The ethernet port is faulty - every once in a while is doesn't detect a cord. Newegg will not let me refun...
Summary: If you're using the thing as a portal desktop where it's going to sit on a chill pad all day, then it's fine...but personally, I found that the overall case design just felt cheap and the cooling wasn't near adequate to match the hardware specs.
Pros: Great price based on the hardware specs. 1-touch buttons are functional and effective, as advertised.
Cons: Poor case design with very INSUFFICIENT cooling, basically necessitating a chill pad. Laptop itself radiates A LOT of heat, so actually placing it on your lap is a no-go as well. Fans are VERY loud. Overall case design just feels kind of cheap.
Summary: Very happy with the purchase as I travel weekly for work and need something to do in remote locations. The Pros faaaaaarrrr outweigh the cons (the only one that matters is the cheapness of the keyboard).
Pros: - Runs games great even with basic AA (45fps w AA and medium/high settings in Meridian during prime time) - Great stats and solid performance - Love that you can run fans full speed whenever you please and the fans seem to scale pretty well automatically - Great shipping from Newegg as always
Cons: - Keyboard is not sturdy at all and you can feel it. My comma key was broken upon shipping and the P key is a little sketchy already. - Turbo button didn't appear to have much performance effect on Rift - Gets pretty hot (which is expected), do NOT rest it on your lap (unless you want to burn you...
Summary: If not for the slow HD and the few keys are are loud this machine would of been a 5 egg all the way. I'm not uber technical so I don't have any numbers etc. But I can probable grab some if anyone is interested. This thing is a beast and can breeze through anything I've sent at it.
Pros: *Amazing performance *Chews through Skyrim on Ultra with over 20 mods including the HD textures and realistic water. *Photoshop etc. is quick and responsive. *Not too heavy *Does everything I expected and more.
Cons: *Battery life is horrible when gaming but that is to be expected. *Keyboard would be great except for the upper left corner has a little give to it and the first few number keys are making a pretty loud clicking sound. *Battery is literally a brick and gets pretty hot. *Hard disk is only 7200 spi...
Summary: -Keys feel weird -Laptop casing is a bit flimsier than other notebooks (don't drop this computer) -Slower RAM (which isn't a problem for me, because I don't open a ton a programs at once. -Not really that heavy in my opinion -Big laptop for a 15.6 screen Overall I really like this notebook...
Pros: -Awesome Specs: GTX 570m (GREAT GRAPHICS. RUNS GAMES SUPER SMOOTHLY), Intel Core i7 2670QM, 12GB DDR3 RAM -FULL HD 1080P -Orange light thingies on the side -Good Speakers -GREAT VALUE considering the high specs on this notebook (You can't another notebook computer brand with similar specs for thi...
Cons: FIRST OF ALL: OBNOXIOUSLY HUGE AC ADAPTER. I mean really. -Full keyboard is nice, but it's so cramped up that I often press the wrong keys when touch typing. You will need to adjust and get used to it. -No led backlit keyboard. -No keyboard indicators for num/scroll/caps lock -Bloatware... annoying.
Summary: The laptop performs outstanding. Rift plays at 30fps even in capital cities with many players around on ultra settings in 1920x1080. This laptop does have the horsepower (unlike some gtx560m and lower cards) imo to drive 1920x1080 in most games in high detail.
Pros: i7 quad core cpu performs at near-desktop i7 levels gtx570m benchmarking about the same as a gtx460 desktop card Plenty of RAM and hard drive space matte screen (no glare, works great in bright areas and sunlight)
Cons: matte screen looks very good, but is slightly less vivid than it's glossy counterparts MSI warranty registration process is clunky at best
