Summary: I have the previous version of this laptop and it is pretty great, except that when the keyboard started acting up (My [Esc] key was saying it was pressed intermittently). I contacted MSI who told me to send the laptop back to them and they would fix in it 15-25 days. If this is your sole computer (As is my case), this warranty is completely worthless. If not having your computer for nearly a month is okay, then this is a really good deal.
Summary: Really nice system but windows 8 killed it, also poorly manufactured. Here are the pros and cons. Pros: -Runs many of my games smoothly. (Neverwinter,League of Legends, Minecraft (Shaders+High res Texturepack) and Splintercell:Blacklist Deluxe(got this for free because of the promotion.)) -Really cool backlit keyboard. -Useful and easy to access touch controls near the power button. -Useful indication light on the power button.
Great notebook, as i expected and what i needed but.....

Summary: all features like the fan and everything work like a charm. although it's a great notebook, i had to deal with the irql_not_less_or_equal crash several times. The crash is caused by the Killer network card and driver, and causes the laptop to crash a few times. this isn't a serious crash (just a restart and an error report) and you can get back to what you're doing in a minute.
Like a new model car, very nice and full of issues.

Summary: Sadly I bought this from a popular website starting with an N and ending in G which I will never use again. I purchased there only because Amazon themselves don't have this in stock yet. BIG MISTAKE as getting an RMA has been a nightmare. The laptop has great hardware for gaming, great sound, a good screen, fantastic keyboard. Scored 7700 on 3Dmark 11 P out of the box. Mine has a bad issue with the fan, it sounds like a locust is stuck inside my comp.
Summary: This laptop also comes with TONS of bloat ware. The poor SSD is packed down to a mere 76GB of free space. Drive compression was also turned off by default and it was killing this thing. The Haswell chip runs HOT, even at idle its in the mid 60s C.
Pros: Runs very fast, the build quality is solid. Lots of great lights around it. The sound quality is amazing for a laptop. Screen isn't bad at all. Alienware with the same hardware would cost over 3k.
Cons: THIS FAN!!!!! It sounds like a locust or cricket even at the lowest settings. I pray it doesn't end up getting louder with time, I almost can't stand it!!!
Summary: Pros: The keyboard lights up beautifully. The sound is exceptional. The graphics and processing performance are hard to beat. The casing is strong and the keyboard feels great under your fingertips. Cons: The pushbutton on the touch pad is a little hard to press, and it has scuffs already too. I don't like Windows 8 unless you are using a touchscreen. The plastic surrounding the screen on the inside scratches very easily.
Summary: I've had this laptop for just over a week. I installed an SSD in the second drive bay and had a pretty annoying experience completing a clean install my Windows 8 Pro license, but that is not MSI's fault in any way. I ended up having to install Windows 7 and then "upgrade" to Windows 8 in order to get my install to work. Now for the good: This thing performs as expected based on other reviews and the hardware included.
Summary: I had intended to use the SSD as a cache (with Intel's Smart Response Technology) but is was not configured to be used this way. MSI technical support was terrible and was not helpful at all in getting the computer configured the way I wanted. I eventually had to go to Microsoft and pay $15 for an installation disc so I could reinstall from scratch.
Pros: Good price for the specs, nice backlit keyboard
Cons: SSD wasn't preconfigured as a cache, MSI support was not helpful at all in correcting this.
