Summary: Received as a birthday gift, when I first turned it on, there was a bad .dll file but putting the included MSI disk cured that. Unfortunately 7 days later, the power supply shorted out and MSI gave me a run around on the warranty. I finally threw my hands up and requested a refund from Amazon. No problem, send it on. Whew! At least Amazon gets 5 stars out of the deal. I will never purchase another MSI product again.
The processor is no the one announced in the characterisitics
4 January 2014
Summary: It is not the computer I expected, it says 3.2Ghz for the processor in the characteristics and when I received the computer and checked the specifications the processor is 2.4 Ghz . It is not fair and need a refund.
Summary: Pretty spectacular machine. Feels solid, great performance, not super heavy. Problem is that it only worked for three days. Yep, three days. This is the first machine I have ever owned to just flat out die on me. Tried pulling the battery and running with/without the AC adapter. It would show the MSI logo and then immediately power off. That's it. Really puzzling as it worked like a champ for two solid days.
Summary: Amazon = incredible MSI = insufficient As great as Amazon's customer service is, MSI's thoroughness is that weak. We went through two of these models before abandoning them for an ASUS. The specs are great, but MSI's inability to insure functionality in software compatibility makes the unit's potential greatness irrelevant. This was my first experience with MSI.
Summary: I have bought this device several days ago and when I tested it, the first thing I mentioned was that 1. When you try to load it propose you to accept 2(!) license agreements with MS(R) and Symantec(R) without an options to decline both of them. 2. You can not load up from thumb-drive, despite this option is marked in setup.
Summary: This laptop runs smoothly and has given me no trouble thus far. It is important to mention that MSI installs a LOT of random crap on this product. Things ranging from their own software to Windows 8 applications. Just be warned. About 50 GB of the 120 in the SSD was filled by their junk (and the OS of course). It would be nice if they gave you the option to install certain applications that were located on a CD that came with the laptop.
Summary: The products are quality with some great thought into the design & parts. I would say overall the performance is 4 outta 5 stars. MSI does not offer replacement keyboards on their "Steelseries" version laptops nor does Steelseries. You have to send it in for "service" which has a 2 week turnaround. There are no aftermarket replacement keyboards either. Do not buy. I have officially boycotted all MSI products because of this.

I will not pay to have someone else to do such a simple task that I have done hundreds of times. Replacing a keyboard is simple. Nor will I send in my laptop for 2 weeks.
MSI's customer service fine...their products, shoddy at best.
Amazon Customer "espyka", Amazon
14 August 2013
Summary: Full disclosure, I bought this computer from a different company and not through Amazon. But, folks have to have all info before buying this computer. I got this computer and out of the box it was pretty impressive. My fans were not loud as I've seen reported numerous other places. But, within an hour of getting things set up...I discovered my speakers didn't work. Speakers. How on God's green earth does a computer get shipped without testing the speakers? I mean..
