Summary: I was highly disappointed. Upon doing a lot of research and finally selecting that the GT60 was the right model for what I wanted to use it for, we ordered this laptop. It was made to handle software and processing for animation production and high graphic development.
Great for a month, historically unreliable, fooled me twice!
Amazon Customer, Amazon
27 July 2015
Summary: Worked for just over a month, randomly shut down and then wouldn't boot back up. Waited a while and removed the power sources, turned back on eventually... about a day later it quit again for good.
Summary: It is out of order after I bought it 2 weeks later. And my MSI notebook CAN'T GET TO Windows, and MSI Service & Support Dept.told me that the Windows loading failure is due to non-OEM SSD that was installed on your unit. What's more, the MSI warranty does not cover aftermarket parts.
Summary: This laptop has been the biggest disappointment. Easily the worst of the 7 laptops I've owned. The specs seemed reasonable, the price was a bit high but since it was Amazon Prime and I needed it in a hurry I went for it. I expect 2 years trouble free from a laptop minimum.
Summary: I bought a Lenovo y410p last March which works great and have barely touched the MSI GT60. I'd really like to clean my hands of this machine. But it still lingers there in the corner reminding me of the hundreds of dollars I poured down the drain when I bought this machine.
Pros: Runs fast, programs start fast with SSD, great screen, well built case.
Cons: USB Barely works. I've tried everything under the sun to fix the USB. All my USB devices will continuously disconnect and reconnect, making it it worthless for everything from playing games to typing papers. I've tried disabling USB 3 and xhci hand-off in BIOS, and every possible USB bios setting...
Summary: Received as a birthday gift, when I first turned it on, there was a bad .dll file but putting the included MSI disk cured that. Unfortunately 7 days later, the power supply shorted out and MSI gave me a run around on the warranty. I finally threw my hands up and requested a refund from Amazon.
The processor is no the one announced in the characterisitics
4 January 2014
Summary: It is not the computer I expected, it says 3.2Ghz for the processor in the characteristics and when I received the computer and checked the specifications the processor is 2.4 Ghz . It is not fair and need a refund.
Summary: Pretty spectacular machine. Feels solid, great performance, not super heavy. Problem is that it only worked for three days. Yep, three days. This is the first machine I have ever owned to just flat out die on me. Tried pulling the battery and running with/without the AC adapter.
