MSI GS60 Ghost Pro 3K review – Nvidia GTX 970M & 870M versions

UltrabookReview
12 October 2014
  • Summary: Overall, I’m extremely pleased with the laptop, especially the 970M version. The GS60 Pro offers pretty much the best that can be offered by an Ultraportable to date. And they do it without skimping on the screen and keyboard quality.
  • Pros: well constructed, stellar screen, good keyboard and trackpad, powerful configurations, solid gaming performance for both versions, but especially the 970M model, proper priced
  • Cons: bright backlit logo on the hood that can't be turned off, the trackpad is too close to the laptop's bottom lip, short battery life, some heating and throttling issues on the 870M version

yooip.com
31 July 2014
  • Summary: MSI GS60 2QE Ghost Pro deserves the golden chassis at least for most parts. The performance has improved as compared to the predecessor. The gaming performance is great and is only currently beaten by the GeForce GTX 980m GPU.

  • Summary: The MSI GS60 is a powerful device with stylish designing. The Full HD display panel, aluminum casing and sound system are very impressive. The powerful combination of CPU and GPU shows high performance for gaming. However the battery runtime is not much impressive for a gaming device.

MSI GS60 Ghost Pro 3K Edition (2PEWi716SR21) Notebook Review

Notebookcheck
13 June 2014
  • Summary: Flat companion. Flat gaming is popular. No, we don't mean 2D games, but thin gaming notebooks like the MSI GS60. The 15.6-inch device is supposed to provide excellent mobility with a height of almost 2 centimeters and powerful hardware. Our review shows you why this is going to be a hot ride.
  • Pros: Nice and thin case, Convenient materials, Sturdy, Comparatively low weight, Thin power adaptor, Decent port variety, At least some maintainability, High application performance, Many games can be played in Full HD and with maximum details, Good display, Good speakers, Reasonable battery runtime, ...
  • Cons: Gets very hot, Not the full performance under maximum load, Power adaptor not sufficient, Battery is drained under maximum load, Limited gaming performance on battery, Partly unfavorable port layout, Unusual keyboard layout, 3K resolution not always ideal in practice, Glossy display, Overall we w...

MSI GS60 Ghost Pro 3K review

TechRadar UK
25 August 2014
  • Summary: One of the first 3K gaming laptops impresses
  • Pros: Excellent screen, Solid 3K performance, Stylish design, Fantastic keyboard, I fell in love with the Ghost Pro design back when it was still in the prototyping phase at CES 2014, and nothing has changed about that since. MSI has achieved a premium look and feel for a fraction of the cost of its co...
  • Cons: Runs extremely hot, Lackluster battery life, One knock against this machine is that, given its super slim design, it's in no way safe to play games with on your lap. (Dudes especially, you've been warned.) While MSI's cooling efforts and component placement go a long way, it's not enough to preve...

MSI GS60 2QE-085FR Ghost Pro 4K : La (trop) haute résolution pour jouer

Ere Numérique
23 January 2015
