Summary: I wouldn't buy anything from this company. Their follow-up service is almost non-existent, were it not for rudeness. I bought an MSI router brand new and the thing stopped working after 2 months. They refused to help me find a way to update the firmware. Based in Taiwan, I guess they don't care what happens after they've gotten your money. STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!
Summary: My main purpose in purchasing this laptop was for work and I needed a solid processor, memory and larger screen that did not empty my wallet. In addition, to still be able to game while away from my desktop. This is an excellent laptop for the price. Once you put in a SSD, you can use the full speed of the laptop. While I wish it had a Nvidia GTX graphics card the GT running with the Intel 4600 is acceptable while gaming on the go.
Pros: Mine came with the newer Intel Core i5 4200H which was a very nice surprise. Excellent screen size & resolution, Ethernet adapter (Killer E2200), and sound system. It does come with 1 - mSATA open slot for you to add an additional SSD.
Cons: While the 1 TB hard drive as all the space you want, it really slows the capabilities of this laptop down. I immediately cloned and installed a Samsung 840 EVO SSD and put in an addition 840 EVO mSATA into it for additional space. It now runs fast! I had to clone the drive on a separate computer due to the solid MSI recovery system installed on the laptop.
Summary: I am really happy with this machine. Performance, display, and graphics are all really good. The computer does not run hot with the few games I play and is pretty quiet. I only had a couple issues. At first, some of the quick start buttons were iffy (the wifi/display off/gaming center), but after doing windows update and restarting, they all work fine. The only complaint I have is that I am not a fan of the trackpad, but it seems to be a problem on a lot of computers.
Summary: A decent buy I thought for an entry level or almost mid level laptop business/gaming as long as you are not playing Crysis type games at high levels - not that I have tried even.
Pros: Fan rpm increases when needed or I can use button when I am gaming to manually do so. Also love having windows 7 on it when I got it versus windows 8. Cpu as an I5 is not better than my I7 but adequate to tasks and video cards also seem able to handle most mid level type games set to normal settings - like the keyboard and 17 inch screen. Also like HDMI connection to connect to my TV - Nice
Cons: one time tv connection did not automatically show my internet browsing to the tv as I thought it would. Something with my output may have been adjusted - video.
