Summary: Heat - As read in other reviews, the laptop can get pretty toasty when at full capacity. Although, in other reviews it says the heat is noticeable where your hands will be when gaming, and I dont feel it at all. It gets very hot in the space between the trackpad and the spacebar (right where the proc is).
Pros: Overall a lot of laptop for the money.
Cons: Trackpad - the feel of the trackpad surface is good, but the clicking is horrible. There isnt an option to manually turn it on or off, but it will auto-off when a mouse is plugged in.
Summary: Even though there are minor problems with the LCD monitor, mousepad, and the battery, this laptop is indeed worth buying with saled price of $949.99. It is very difficult to find a cheaper laptop that has similar or better specifications than this laptop does. The keyboard made by SteelSeries is an additional bonus of buying this laptop.
Pros: - Great specs and quality relative to cheap price., - It has Windows 7 not 8. Some people might prefer the newest OS but I still love Windows 7 and this is probably the only gaming laptop that has Windows 7 now., - Even though the screen is 15.6", the weight is still 2.4kg which is the same weight as HP 14.1" laptops., - The LCD monitor has FHD resolution., - It has SteelSeries backlight keyboard., - SSD and additional RAM memories can be added easily by consumers., -...
Cons: - The ODD is very flimsy., - The sensitivity of the mousepad seems a little too dull. Apple laptops have the best touchpad by far., - I am not sure if it is only my laptop but the brightness of the monitor seems a little dimmer than regular LED monitor., - When the brightness of the monitor was changed from 100 -> 90, then the monitor gets dimmer, which is supposed to happen. But when it is decreased from 90 to 80, the screen gets brighter again. When the brightness i...
Pros: Amazing capabilities, quick and easy upgrade to 8.1, very nice shape of keys (slightly indented to fit a fingertip), very quiet typing, button to FORCE fan to maximum, underglow for keys is nice and semi-adjustable, quick boot (<30 seconds), beautiful display, good sound quality, very nice charge cable (light AND small with the "hook" end). It was able to play SimCity on completely maxed 1920x1080 at 60Hz with VERY little lag, if any (my eyes aren't the greatest).
Cons: The Windows Key on the keyboard is ONLY to the right side of the spacebar. Many times I have meant to press Windows where it normally would be only to hit Alt or Fn, the track pad does not have separate buttons, track pad is annoying to use as it very lightly shakes when sliding fingers on it (probably because it is a single unit including dual-button functionality. Comes with many annoying pre-installed programs and metro apps that will never be used. BIOS loading sc...
Summary: *The CDROM drive is very flimsy, be gentle when opening and closing, but works great.
Pros: *Aluminum case keeps things cool and looks great
Cons: *On the mouse pad, the right and left click buttons are integrated within the entire touch pad. Its flimsy and the entire pad moves when using the click buttons! Thankfully I use a wireless mouse. I take a star off for that. Next time use separate mechanical keys for mouse clicks or improve this!
Summary: Windows 8 is not the best OS for this laptop. It feels like its an OS built for a touchscreen which this laptop does not have. I ended up downgrading to windows 7 because if feels more appropriate for this laptop.
Pros: I feel that this laptop is the perfect balance being powerful enough to play games and being portable enough to bring to all of my college classes. I have no problem playing Just cause 2 on max settings. The keyboard feels really nice to type on and the two finger scrolling on the touch-pad is nice.
Cons: Battery life: I get 2-3 hours with half brightness and wireless turned on.
Summary: It is a good laptop 1. It is very fast, blazing speeds 2. Graphics are superb. The Nvidia card is great 3. Screen resolution and image quality is superior 4. 8 GB of fast ram 5. Keyboard is super. Easy contacts, quick response. Numeric pad unnecessary. 7. 7400 rpm HD. You usually find 5400. 8. USB 3.0 ports 9. Excellent sound system Bad things 1. It is heavy but you're not going to get this processor and graphic's card without the weight of cooling systems.
Summary: The Ugly: I had this laptop for about a month and started to notice that the WIFI was dropping constantly. After many lost hours and days trying to talk to MSI's useless customer service, installing BIOS updates, new drivers, old drivers, smashing my head against the wall, I finally just reset the thing. After that, and some fumbling here and there I have it working well now.
Summary: I have had this laptop for just over 2 months and it has run everything I have thrown at it marvelously. It plays games like a champ and has hasn't really gotten hot on me yet. It has however, had a loud clicking sound from the GPU fan from the day I got it. It has become very annoying and I'm hoping someone else that had had this problem could help!
Summary: This laptop met my expectation and it runs everything so smoothly. However, sometimes the fan can run really fast and the laptop become really hot, and I have to restart it to solve the problem
Great customer service some build quality problems

Summary: I've had this laptop for over a year now and I've had to send it to MSI for repair twice. I must say however, MSI has had extremely wonderful customer service and has been extremely quick to reply and quick to fix any problems. The first was simply a bad stick of RAM the second was the headphone jack broke on the inside somehow. Overall this laptop has a lot of power for gaming, and as people have mentioned the screen is fantastic.
