Excerpt: Mostly its ok to deal with at its price level but the sound is terrible even compared to my 6 year old Compaq laptop !!! Wish they could get an upgrade for it. The battery gave out within a few months. They ultimately replaced it but as soon as I got it back it started shutting down on me. So send it back again. They replaced the fan and cooling cover. It does get very hot when being used for a while. I will get an HP next time.
Summary: I don't have much to complain about this laptop. It has powerful specs and can run Halo at maximum graphics and sound effects with little to no flickering. The main problem I have with this laptop is the directional keys - whenever I hold down any of them, be it right, up, down or left, and try to press two or more letter keys on my laptop, only one key will register. For example, if I hold down X and Right arrow key and try to press Z, the Z button won't register.
Summary: For what I paid - $350 at a local retailer last year, on sale - this laptop isn't bad at all, though it's not a good buy for what it seems to be currently selling for. You do need to remember that this is a low end, entry level laptop, from a company that primarily builds desktop PC components. Bumping the memory up to 4GB will help performance a bit, though it can handle up to 8GB. My gripes - the speakers are absolutely terrible.
Summary: I have no real complaints with this laptop, except one: speaker volume. I will say, though, that I love the speakers are surround sound - and I mean REAL surround sound. However, unless you're in a really quiet room all the time, you're going to need earphones. Meaning, if you watch a lot of YouTube, and there's something - ANYTHING - going on in the same room, you're going to need earphones. Other than that, I consider that I overbought on this laptop.
Summary: I got 2 of these at microcenter they are a lot of computer for $550. I noticed since I bought it the cheap and crappy enclosure,it just seemed very cheap. Today I need to take it back to microcenter I only had it for 1 week and guess what my screen became bent I dont know exactly how I've given it normal use the left upper side where the heat sink is right by that area the frame for the screen is bent.
