Summary: I am going to say first that I didn't purchase from Amazon, but rather I purchased directly from Lenovo. I got a lemon. I may have gotten the only lemon of this computer, ...I don't know, but it didn't work from the start. Right out of the box, you could almost hear the gears grinding for it to do anything. It took so long to access the web from any browser that I eventually timed it at over 7 1/2 minutes.
Summary: I am a proud owner of 2 of these machines. One with guarilla glass with only pen input, and one with pen and multi-touch (without Guarilla glass. I keep seeing sellers overpricing striped down versions of these x230t laptops with i5's and i7s with no webcam, finger print reader and only 8gb of ram, and some selling with no bluetooth! thats retarded. there are many x230t selling for $1,200 with i7, 360gb HD, 4gb ram WITH bluetooth, webcam, fingerprint reader for $1,200.
Summary: This computer is great in so many ways -- it's solid, stable, very portable and very fast. Unfortunately, all of that is totally overshadowed by it having a totally unusable touchpad. Every time you point to something on the screen, the pointer jerks away just as you're trying to select something. This may not seem like a big deal at first -- sometimes they are finicky -- but after hours of slowdowns due to repeated work for clicking on wrong buttons, etc.
The worst laptop I've had in years-I need to replace it with a better computer
A. C. Hughes "A.C.Hughes", Amazon
22 January 2014
Summary: I had high hopes for this laptop-but the graphics are too poor for me to even install google earth, and I can't run my software (ArcGis) properly, as it takes several lifetimes and crashes all the time. I can't honestly believe the specs, as this is the worst laptop I've had in at least a decade. Another point is the harddrive is in FIVE parts-so I can't run big analyses without attaching an external drive. I'm hoping to get a decent computer (i.e.
Summary: I placed order, I should got it 3 days ago as what it said on system. I check with FedEx today, it said my package still hold in there warehouse, no pick up. No live person can talk to. I will not recommend.
Summary: Bought a new X230 last winter it lasted 8 months and then totally died. Lenovo Customer Service was totally worthless..Even though the web site states the system is still under International Warranty, Lenovo says they do not have to honor the warranty..I own 4 older Thinkpads, but Lenovo Quality and customer service is not IBM's....
Summary: I just bought this item for my friend. But I found something is wrong when my friend received and showed me. The hard driver just 360GB, no fingerprint. It's totally different from what the seller wrote omline.
Summary: The product itself is good but in case you need customer service from Lenovo, be ready to be knocked around for days or be willing to pay the price of the machine every time you send the machine for repair. The 3 year warranty does not mean much. You need accidental damage protection because they will classify everything as non-warranty - that is unless you are ready to dispute it and be willing to be without your machine for weeks.
