Click To Enlarge The overall design is excellent. The classic ThinkPad look seems to be even more appealing at a small size, and the fantastic keyboard layout made typing for long periods really easy. The trackpad and left/right click buttons were also outstanding (among our favorites), and the inclusion of a multi-touch gesture pad really took things up a notch. Read more
When we first reviewed Lenovo's ThinkPad X100e back in March, we were impressed with its lightweight design and amazing keyboard, but we couldn't give the 11.6-inch notebook more than 3 out of 5 stars because of its short battery life and hot temperatures. Now, Lenovo has released a new version of the X100e with a more powerful dual core AMD Turion X2 CPU. Read more
PC history has made it easy to assume every ThinkPad is black, expensive, and Intel-powered, but it's time to think again. Available in crimson, the ThinkPad X100e delivers a very usable 11.6-inch screen and full-size keyboard in a 3-pound package. X100e models start at just $449 (our tested configuration rang up at $549), and at price points like that, ultraportables like these might just put another nail into the netbook’s coffin. Read more
Lenovo successfully created and released an inexpensive, small notebook for business use , with decent application and graphics performance. We especially liked the extensive communication facilities , which also include a broadband modem. Because of its matte, reasonably bright screen you can even take care of business communication on the move, at least as long as the sun does not fall directly onto the screen. The battery life is alright for that. Read more

In the old days, buying an ultralight ThinkPad meant cashing in the kids’ college fund. Designed for executives looking to make a statement, the lightweight machines were showy, expensive, and hardly designed for serious, all-day computing. Read more

Lenovo's Thinkpad X100e is certainly more powerful than a netbook, and more usable thanks to its 11.6in display. However, its weight and price are comparable with some larger laptops with a 13in screen. Nevertheless, the X100e exudes a build quality rarely seen on other laptops, and many buyers will find this reassuring. Read more
I like the Thinkpad X100e laptop. It has good performance, small form factor, light weight, good keyboard and good price. The reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 stars is because its battery lifetime is not as great. You can use 2 to 3 hours depending on load, which is not as great as Intel's high-end ultra mobile processors or Intel's Atom. However, 2 hours is not that bad. Other than that, I am very pleased with this laptop. Read more or see product
Over all, this is a great machine. It won't play newer games, and older ones only at lower resolutions, but for day to day tasks, it is wonderful. Watching Netflix HD movies seems an easy task for it as well. Battery life is about 5 hours when browsing the internet, and 2 1/2 hours watching a movie. Last note - this machine is perfect for Linux. Ubuntu 10.10 installed flawlessly, with everything working upon installation, no fighting needed. Read more
First of all, battery bulges out about 1 inch.. kind of annoying but i guess its okay The FN and CNTRL button are in weird spots of the keyboard but in BIOS i switched them and physically swapped both buttons The Delete and End button are also in weird spots but I could not figure out how to fix that The laptop gets REALLY hot the highest temperature recorded was 153 degrees (scorching) and i undervolted it and using the lowest settings possible i got it down to 120... Pros: Great keyboard. Has my favorite pointing device, a trackpoint nubby pencil eraser thing that lets you move the pointer around without moving your keys off of the keyboard. Touchpad pointing device doesn't get hit my one's palms -- is very slightly recessed to prevent that annoyance. 1376x768 screen. Nice small and light, rugged, and great looking. Cons: RUNS HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT! Did I mention it runs hot?! Read more or see product
