Excerpt: When I received the laptop everything in the computer working Ok, it is fast, slim and not heavy ,booting up fast but after the battery was fully charged I started using it without the charger plugged into the laptop and noticed that the juice from the battery was runnig out too quick, The charge...
Summary: My Godmother gave this Lenovo T-61 to me back in 2007. As I already owned an IBM ThinkPad R-31 model, the T-61 sat boxed in my living room for over six years. But in January 2014 the motherboard of the R-31 died on me and I had no choice but to unbox the T-61 for use.
Summary: Great price on a very usefull laptop. Like the sturdiness and the Zorin OS. Suspect the affordable price may have had something to do with "e" and "down arrow" needing to be cleaned so that it doesn't require a hammer to make those keys work.
Summary: I bought an SSD to use on this machine to save power so that I can use the laptop on battery power all night long. HDD swap was easy and the SSD rocks in this thing. Once I take the optical drive out I should be able to get 4 hours pew battery.
Pros: First of all, Win7 works great, screen is bright and clear, no dings or nicks, and all the USB ports work. I bought this to have a light low-power laptop to use with a telescope so these were the main things that had to work right.
Cons: The battery arrived dead, not a big deal as I bought tow extra batteries for $17 each. The speakers do not work either, again I am not using this for A/V work or anything so that was not a deal breaker.
Summary: Purchased this a month ago for a Christmas present and when Christmas came, it appeared to have a dead battery. Have yet to pursue a remedy for that. Laptop booted fine and OS took the supplied key.
Pros: System setup was quick Still relevant technology and great value for the price Excellent condition for a refurb.
Cons: Came with a Dead Battery - not sure if covered under the limited warranty
Summary: They didn't do it right, doesn't mean you can't.
Pros: It's a great machine as long as you install the latest drivers...and software that you want. This laptop is a T-61/7661/WFK. Ignore the pics of the spec labels. It's not the same machine. Check it out at Levovo.com... 14.1" screen, no bluetooth, GLAN, Wireless G, Core Duo etc...No card reader.......
