Summary: Ordered this laptop and what arrived was a T61 7648: 2.0GHz CPU instead of the advertized 2.2GHz; no fingerprint scanner; 12.1" standard def screen screen instead of a 14.1" widescreen; fewer port options; etc etc etc.
Choose intel integrated video card over admittedly defective nVidia unit.
27 March 2014
Summary: WARNING: A major percentage of T61's have a faulty integrated nVidia (recalled)video card. This can often be remedied by Lenovo after warranty, but likely with considerable effort. The intel video card installed units do not experience this fault.
Summary: The laptop I received had scratches on the lcd and the hinges were very loose. The description said normal wear. This is the first laptop I have ever purchased that didn't have an accurate description.
Summary: For some reason, when the computer description said the Lenovo came "fully loaded", I just assumed it meant loaded with MS Office suite. Not so. It does have Open Office, which I have used, but which is not always adequate for creating the types of documents I like to use.
Summary: Hard drive failure in wk one. On paper it looked good but not this one. I have had good experiences buying used or refurbished in the past. Not very happy that we were charged for the return expenses. Happy there was no delay getting a refund.
