Summary: I had another bad experience with the same unit, but I had ordered a second one before receiving the first one. The second unit also came with a 5 year old battery that wouldn't hold a charge. Windows 7 immediately warned me to "replace battery", so I contacted Joy Systems again. This time, Joy systems sent me a warped replacement that I was able to manhandle into the battery bay.
Summary: The PC was "refurbished" by Joy Systems. Unfortunately, they shipped the PC with a battery that is no longer functional. After spending days trying to contact Joy Systems' customer support, they finally had me Fedex the spent battery back to them. The agreement was that they would send me a "new" battery as a replacement. I just received the "new" (used) battery, AND IT IS THE WRONG TYPE. IT DOESN'T FIT THE PC!!!
Excerpt: Seemed like a good deal until i got it and right out of the box the system started up with a system restore error message. Then the battery will not charge and the computer says "Plugged in, not charging, CONSIDER REPLACING YOUR BATTERY !!"Online specs say 160Gig hard drive, package says 100 gig HD and that is what is in the computer.Online specs say 4-1 Media Card Reader-- none to be found.Very sad as it was a very nice machine : -(
SCAM: What arrived is not what I ordered, paperwork reveals SCAM

Summary: Ordered this laptop and what arrived was a T61 7648: 2.0GHz CPU instead of the advertized 2.2GHz; no fingerprint scanner; 12.1" standard def screen screen instead of a 14.1" widescreen; fewer port options; etc etc etc. Now this is the part you need to pay attention to here: The features listed here in this advertisement matched the paper that shipped with the laptop.
Choose intel integrated video card over admittedly defective nVidia unit.
27 March 2014
Summary: WARNING: A major percentage of T61's have a faulty integrated nVidia (recalled)video card. This can often be remedied by Lenovo after warranty, but likely with considerable effort. The intel video card installed units do not experience this fault.
Summary: The laptop I received had scratches on the lcd and the hinges were very loose. The description said normal wear. This is the first laptop I have ever purchased that didn't have an accurate description. I usually use Ebay and if there is a problem with the screen having scratches it will be listed in the description so there is no surprises.
Summary: For some reason, when the computer description said the Lenovo came "fully loaded", I just assumed it meant loaded with MS Office suite. Not so. It does have Open Office, which I have used, but which is not always adequate for creating the types of documents I like to use. Also, it does not really interface well with the network I have at work, so my coworkers cannot open the reports I have created at home.
Summary: Hard drive failure in wk one. On paper it looked good but not this one. I have had good experiences buying used or refurbished in the past. Not very happy that we were charged for the return expenses. Happy there was no delay getting a refund. Waste of time and money but this is what I expect buying refurbished for my children. Got a news Azus 1 yr wty.(from Tiger Direct) for about $70 more when factoring in coast of return postage.
