Summary: I bought this laptop because I needed a dependable Windows XP laptop for use with Automotive diagnostic equipment that won't work with newer systems. Lenovo made the best laptops and were rated #1 by all Computer magazines in the PC category. The keyboard has a very nice feel. Hinges are loose but screen stays where you want it. It could use a backlit screen like later models. Superb build quality. Some reviewers say that the quality fell off after the T420 models.
Lenovo got it right with this tough, feature loaded notebook.

Summary: Bought one because the price was nominal and the hardware had lots of bells and whistles. It was to give to my not-so-tech savvy sister. I was so impressed with the condition of the machine and it's bang for the buck (fingerprint reader, keyboard light, bluetooth and Wifi as well as web cam) with Windows Vista. I'm not a fan of any even numbered Windows version (they always seem to be painted pigs).
Choose intel integrated video card over admittedly defective nVidia unit.

Summary: WARNING: A major percentage of T61's have a faulty integrated nVidia (recalled)video card. This can often be remedied by Lenovo after warranty, but likely with considerable effort. The intel video card installed units do not experience this fault.
Excerpt: I have been using T61 model for more than a year now. I don’t have a long list of good things to tell about this. One should be prepared to see a lot of blue screen while working on T61. It worked without hassles for six months but after that it broke often. Most of the time iexplore.exe was the culprit and was needed to terminate the process. This irritates me because all the windows I am browsing will also get closed when doing this.
Summary: This is a awesome little computer. I wanted a computer to put on all of my music. We have been doing alot of driving lately so I am using my I pod instead of CD's. This will be nice to take on vacation TOO!
great buy, the fan is a little loud, but thats the only downfall i can find

Summary: i only had this thing a few hours, but i already love it! i was looking for a netbook, but this was cheaper and runs actual windows as apposed to android. the last time a saw a thinkpad was when i was like 5, and apparently they haven't changed much. this is good because if you build something the same way it's easier to perfect designs.
