Summary: Brand new, this laptop would be well out of my price range. The physical problems I have had are quite annoying, but perhaps that is to be expected when buying refurbished (this is my first time doing so).
Pros: The laptop is physically very solid and I can expect it to last a long time. (Important because I put it through rough use while traveling each day.) The SSD is extremely fast. The other specifications all exceed what I need.
Cons: After about a month of use, one column of pixels in the screen stopped working. This is apparently due to a loose cable somewhere inside. Sometimes opening and closing the lid will temporarily fix this. I'm out of the country and it will be a real pain to send this for repairs. Also, the battery ...
