Lenovo Thinkpad is a mix of great value and great performance!

agenttexx, Ebay
7 March 2014
  • Summary: I purchased the T500 as a replacement to my T61, which had gone down when the cooling fan died. I'd found a replacement fan assembly and planned to replace the damaged component, but I also was interested in getting a newer system that utilized the less expensive DDR3 RAM. What I like about the T500 is the larger display and the additional expansion. On the smaller T400, SD and Memory Card expansion occupies the Express/PCMCIA bays.

The Lenovo T500 Review - so far so good!

Matt, Viewpoints
9 September 2012
  • Excerpt: This is my first impressions review of a Lenovo T500 laptop I started using a few days ago.  I will add to the review as I gain more experience with the machine. First, a bit of background.  I am a demanding laptop user.  I rely very heavily on my laptop for both constant e-mail web surfing, and office applications such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint.  I am not a gamer and don't care that much about the high end graphics features of some gaming laptops.

Mixed Bag of Features and Problems

Nuclear Waste, J&R
12 February 2010
  • Summary: Ordered specific computer from J&R because it had Windows XP installed for family member who needed it for software not Windows 7 compatible. Product was advertised as 802.11 b,g,n capable. Mode "n" did not work. Sent to manufacturer by UPS air both directions for fix, and network card was replaced. But the manufacturer updated the BIOS and installed Windows 7 over the Windows XP. Attempts to use home made recovery CD failed.
  • Pros: Fast, Lightweight, Long Battery Life, Powerful, Quality Display, Quiet
  • Cons: Poorly Designed Keyboard

T500 - A Good Programming Machine

HexBug, J&R
11 October 2009
  • Summary: Awesome Laptop for programming - 1) Excellent keyboard (with the standard format Insert, Delete, Home, End, PgUp, PgDown keys which I use a lot). 2) Anti-Glare 1280 X 800 Screen LED Backlit - Good for coding for hours. 3) Fast processor - T9400 Core 2 duo - 2.53GHz, 6MB Level-2 (L2) Cache. The compilers run pretty fast on this processor. 4) Good and fast web-cam with microphone. 5) Nice Fingerprint login. 6) Pretty good power management system. 7) Nice and loud speakers.
  • Pros: Comfortable Keyboard, Cool Temperature, Fast, Long Battery Life, Powerful, Power Managment System, Quality Display, Quiet, Think Light
  • Cons: Slow Hard Drive - 5400rpm

ThinkPad 500 - more than I expected

Mike, J&R
23 September 2009
  • Summary: Nice business oriented laptop, easy to setup. Excellent wireless connection. Includes trial version for Microsoft Office and McAfee virus protection, simplifying addition of standard office software if needed. Options including sleep mode, power management, back-ups very convenient. Have not seen much in terms of unnecessary added (and unwanted) software. Touch pad requires a bit of learning (edges more responsive then center).
  • Pros: Lightweight, Long Battery Life, Powerful, Quality Display, Quiet

Solid computer.

Dave, J&R
8 September 2009
  • Summary: Very solid, durable laptop. Screen is good and prefer the size over my T400. Don't like all of the Lenovo Thinkvantage software that comes with it. Turned some of it off since it just slows down the computer. Also installed updates to Thinkvantage software and had to rollback because of errors with new software. Other than that, I really like the quality of the hardware.
  • Pros: Comfortable Keyboard, Fast, Quality Display
  • Cons: Preinstalled software

Gutes Gesamtpaket

Christian Kley, Amazon
10 October 2013
  • Summary: Sehr schnelle Lieferung, war positiv überrascht.

EKij, Ciao
20 October 2009
  • Pros: Gute Verarbeitung, Festplattensicherung, gute Graphik, Robustheit, Stabilität, abschaltbares Wlan
  • Cons: Alte IBM - Ultra - bays passen nicht

19 May 2009
