Summary: Beware! The description showed very good condition..but it's horrible. The frame near the DVD box is burnt. The frame is extremely loose. Gap exxists between frame components ..completely opposite to what has been declared. Don't buy from this seller.
Summary: I've always had an IBM ThinkPad...my last purchase I was surprised to learn that Lenovo took over...because I've never been as happy with any other computer (tried an Apple once and a Dell...always went back to a ThinkPad), I bought this one. I couldn't be more disappointed. The quality, integrity and design points are so inferior to what I have grown used to. It's only been 2 years and I need another computer (the jack, sound card has gone bad and the motor(?
Summary: Website says 9-10 business days on shipping and I immediately get a confirmation email upon ordering on 2/3 that says it'll be shipped on 2/24. Big inconvenience but I'll wait it out until the next shipping estimate on 2/25 tells me 4/20. Called for a refund and am never ordering from Lenovo again!
Summary: I purchased a new thinkpad with accessories all of which were back ordered. I had problems with setting up the home network in the Windows 7 system. I called their service and they denied the warranty I had just paid for. Their order status web site is always down. The 866 order status phone based system is a bunch of barely English speaking people who also do not have server access. My accessories are on a never ending delay (up to three months now).
Summary: Ive had my Y500 for LESS THAN 6 MONTHS and it already broke. Its now slow, wont restart, and or shutdown. And Lenovo made me pay $200 plus $30 for shipping to send it back for them to fix it. Before i bought the laptop the costumer service was great, nice and helpful, but now all they do is waste an hour of your time on the phone just to end up telling you that you have to buy more crap to get your computer working.
Summary: to anyone looking to buy this computer please stop and think because i can assure you there are far better laptops available for less than this. A standard core 2 duo will usually sell for around 500-600 dollars mostly dependent on brand and features. for the price they want for this pc you could easily buy a i5 computer or higher.
