Terrible design choice in otherwise decent computer
11 April 2014
Summary: Whether you like this computer probably depends upon why you use it. I do a lot of photo processing and word processing. The new touch pad is a deal killer. Since they got rid of the right and left click buttons and combined them with the touch pad, it's very clunky and difficult to control when you click or when you don't. If you just watch videos, maybe it's ok, but then you probably would want an iPad and not a full laptop. Terrible.
Summary: This is an expensive purchase and I was looking forward to working with this machine. What a disappointment! I found the machine (not sold directly by Amazon) highly infected with virus and loaded with malwares. I suspected that someone had once owned this machine and returned it to the vendor. It took me months to clean up the hard drive and get rid of the malwares and viruses. I will not purchase anything from this vendor ever again.
Unless you have no interest in ever using the Touchpad as you have on previous Lenovo Laptops STAY AWAY from this thing.

Summary: I was very excited to get this machine with the high res and the SSD. A whole bunch were recently purchased by my employer. But after two seconds on the trackpad I knew I couldn't take it... My T410 is more usable with a regular hard disk. With the T440s: Sadly: * The trackpad is completely unusable (I can work my smart phone faster now) as I use dual thumbs and its like a big giant keyboard key! It depresses about 1/8".
Summary: The machine it self is nice, however bought it in December, in February it stopped powering on, returned to lenovo who replace the system board and return. Now less than two months later the same exact problem. After being on hold for an hour I was finally told that to replace this it would take two days just to get an answer or not. Too bad the machine works well when it works. After this I'm never buying another product from them.
Summary: I have owned laptops and notebooks since 1992. This is the worst ever. The hard disk suffered massive failure in just 7 months. "Technical Support" replaced the hard disk but the new one has no operating system. I am in week three and still no computer. This was my primary business computer and this failure has cost me tens of thousands. I called “customer service” and tried to get my money back but to no avail.
3 of the 4 Lenovo t440s we ordered have issues after only 3 months - DON'T BUY

Summary: Please don't waste your money on this laptop! My company ordered 4 of these at the end of April and in the three months that we have had them, we've had trouble with three of them. All three of them have problems coming out of sleep mode, one of them must be booted in Safe Mode every single time and then restarted from this mode before it will allow you to get to the Windows login screen.
Summary: Der Bildschirm ist eine Zumutung.
