Lenovo ThinkPad T420 Review: Kickin' It Old School
21 February 2012
Excerpt: And as if to remind me of it, a Lenovo ThinkPad T420 suddenly appeared at my doorstep. Okay, that’s exaggerating a bit - I did know it was coming - but the timing of receiving an old-school laptop couldn't have been better.
Summary: The Lenovo ThinkPad T420 is a notebook which will take you through fire and water. The most amazing spec is the battery and the most amazing feature is the keyboard. You’ll have to refrain from getting it if you’re all about a light and thin gadget.
Conclusion: For past ThinkPad T-series owners looking to return to the fold, as well as current owners looking for a newer model, the new ThinkPad T420 is an easy decision. In the model we looked at, it delivers cracking performance, and even some 3D abilities, in a time-tested platform.
Conclusion: Finally, the first certified Eco-Friendly laptop is here. Thinkpad T420 has been certified Sustainable Product Certification (SPC) Gold, by UL Environment. This laptop comes with multiple eco-friendly components, like low power halogen lamps, and recycled plastic for manufacturing the body.
Excerpt: No one ever got fired for buying a ThinkPad, as the saying goes, and without a doubt no one will get fired for buying the latest Lenovo T420. This scintillatingly fast Sandy Bridge refresh of the familiar business-black, boxy-but-impressive, all-purpose laptop remains a reliable 4-pound workhorse,...
Summary: With its epic battery life, awesome keyboard, solid sound, durable design, and high-res screen, the ThinkPad T420 offers nearly everything you'd want in a 14-inch business system for a good price.
Summary: An invariable constant. The tried and tested Thinkpad design has practically remained untouched on the outside. But from now on, the new Sandy Bridge hardware does its job inside the T420.
Pros: Good application performance, Comprehensive communication configuration, Pleasant input devices, Keyboard light, Battery options, Display port, The extensive communication configuration and the good application performance.
Cons: Low display contrast, Vertical viewing angle dependency, No USB 3.0, New (subtle) design ideas
Excerpt: The Lenovo ThinkPad T420 14-inch screen laptop is one of the latest additions to the iconic ThinkPad lineup of business laptops. While the ThinkPad T420 is positioned as a business laptop, I’ve always been a fan of ThinkPads for use in an education setting as well.
