Summary: Solid laptop but realized that 32 bit windows 7 pro was installed not 64 bit win 7 pro as described. For this reason I may return it, otherwise it is in good shape and hardware has functioned well so far.
Summary: Have had 3 of these go out with Fan Error in past 2 years at work. Update: Found out if you blow into the vents on side it removes the dust that is stopping the fan and causing the Fan Error. That is a quick solution but means you probably need to clean the dust out of the laptop.
Summary: I have been using Lenovo Thinkpads for the past 14 years and have always been super happy. This is also a good machine but has one major drawback - "improved" bumpy touchpad.... It is rather horrible - I don't know what they've been thinking.... I purchased my Thinkpad online, so didn't have a chance to test it in advance - and now a few months into it I am super disappointed.
BE WARNED....Nice product, but the company/service sucks!

Summary: Bought one online from a famous NYC electronics retailer and got a really good deal. I am a Mac guy, but I need a PC for work stuff and this Lenovo T410 Thinkpad replaced a 2004 model Dell that could not be upgraded to the new standards. Out of the box I was impressed by the construction, however, NO CD's come with the product; not even the WIN 7 CD. There is not much in the way of documentation either, just set-up flyer and safety manual.
Summary: I was attempting to go back to PCs from Mac life, having straddled the fence for some time. I bought one of these T410S's from Lenovo directly (so, this is nothing at all to say negative about this seller, only about Thinkpad T410S). I have the SSD which I must say is blazingly fast. I also got 8MB of ram. The machine is so fast. Really, did I mention it's fast? The computer is also pretty light weight. It feels so much lighter than my 15inch MacBook.
Excerpt: Ihave had my Thinkpad Lenovo laptop T410i for only a year and purchased it new - the bottom upper part where you rest your wrists to type on the keyboard along with the touchpad gets entirely too hot - Have tried sitting on something where it (the bottom) gets circulation but nothing helps.
