Summary: I have had this laptop for 3 years now. In the meantime, I maxed the RAM to 8GB and Hardrive to 1 TB. It is very powerful and sturdy laptop. THe design allows it to be roughed and it keep on powering through. I run a lot of large spreadsheets and have not been disappointed.
Summary: I ordered a SL510 -- received it damaged. Returned and got another. This one would not connect to wi-fi. Called many times with no help. Returned for repair THREE times and still did not work for more than a couple days at a time. Got my son to do a temp.
Summary: I purchased this item and was happy with it until a problem developed with the display. I returned it for repair under warrenty. They claimed a "foreign substance" was found in the display. NONSENSE, if there was a foreign substance in the display it came from the factory.
Summary: The laptop arrived on time and in good condition. Unfortunately it had the wrong operating system installed (Win 7 Home instead of Win 7 Pro). The product key is for Win 7 Pro and consequently the machine won't pass windows validation.
Summary: I'm typing this review on an SL510 (purchased in June 2011 - about 6 months ago). The only thing this laptop is short on is bluetooth (which you can get a micro adapter for). Other than that, the build quality of this thing is amazing. It's a bit utilitarian, but very sturdy.
Summary: Beware: Lenovo has terrible customer service. Very difficult to reach someone by phone who speaks English clearly. Easy customer service issue became a 90+ minute phone call; transferred several times, so entire concern needed to be restated several times.
Summary: I purchased this a few months back from Amazon. What a terrific system and price. This was my first Lenovo, and it will certainly not be my last! I am coming from the Dell laptop camp, but I have also had a Toshiba in the past.
Summary: I bought this laptop in part because of all the glowing reviews and because it never occurred to me that a laptop today might be manufactured at a weight of more than 8 pounds. If it were a desktop, I might give it a high rating.
Summary: Lots of features for the money. I bough this to network with our office system and it is perfect. Our other laptops are the tablet type (with the swivel top and touch pad) and much more expensive. This does everything we need for one-third the cost.
