Since Lenovo took over the rights of the ThinkPad from IBM in 2005, an increasing amount of notebooks of the ThinkPad family are found that rather aim more at end consumers than business clients. The SL range bids a few known qualities, such as the good keyboard, the trackpoint, the hard disk recovery, the good software and the fingerprint reader. These security features make the ThinkPad SL510 interesting for smaller businesses, too. The stable workmanship and the... Read more

Lenovo is one of the larger laptop makers out there and they always make good products that we like. The new Lenovo ThinkPad SL510 is a solid laptop that is built for tough use and will last for a long time. It's a nice system for personal use (or business use) that offers solid performance that will last for a few years, in both durability and compatibility. Read more

Last year, Lenovo attempted to shake up the business notebook market by introducing its SMB-oriented ThinkPad SL Series notebooks. These budget systems had the famous build quality, keyboard, and trackpoint of a typical ThinkPad, but bargain prices and stylish design touches meant they weren’t exactly your father’s ThinkPad. The ThinkPad SL510, as the new 15-inch member of the line (starting at $529; $1,024 as reviewed), offers key changes, such as a lighter chassis... Read more

It's a ThinkPad -- it's solid and ready to rock right out of the box. Bought this for my older in-law's, and saw very disappointed to see that all usual screen res's below the native were blurry and bad (read: useless.) Read more

This review is from: Lenovo ThinkPad SL510 15.6 inch Notebook (Core 2 Duo T5870 2.0GHz, RAM 2048MB, HDD 250GB, DVD±RW Dual ±R, LAN WLAN, Bluetooth, Windows 7 Pro with XP Recovery, DVD, Intel GMA 4500MHD) (Electronics) Item arrived as promised on time. Only niggle is that it comes with XP pro loaded and not Windows 7. However Windows 7 can be loaded but a bit long winded. Read more or see product
