Excerpt: I am on my second IBM Thinkpad which I use almost exclusively for work so no games or gizmos. My current one was bought on Ebay 6 months ago brand new at an amazing price from an established computer seller on Ebay. I was aprehensive when I clicked the pay button to win or loose £245 considering my previous IBM Thinkpad had cost £900. The computer arrived with carry case and all brand new and has operated perfectly for the past 6 months.
Pros: Good working tool
Cons: If you ever need IBM techical support - Sorry ! !
Excerpt: These are the most fantastic laptops i have ever come across. Not only are they light and compact but the speed at which they can jump from programme to programme is phenominal. i can even have upto 8 programmes running without effecting the speed! It never crossed my mind to buy a thinkpad but when my boss bought me one for my work I ended up loving it so much I went and bought another for home.
Excerpt: i bought this ibm notebook month ago from my uncle.. and it seems that this ibm notepad has everything that a business man would like to have it has it bright and clear type of LCD Screen for easy picture viewing and it has a very great battery life also it supports 2GB memory for faster typing job, playing games, and other web activities.
Excerpt: welll i bought it as second hand, for 250 GBP, and it is serving me since last year. i love this laptop more than my girl friend. i love its classic design, fast speed, compatible nature, and bussiness feel that it always give me. its my library, my doctor, my secretary and and and...........i want to see it every morning beside me, when i wake up .............................
Excerpt: The IBM R50e was given to me by my company for office use and for offsite presentations. i use to have a G40 (which is an old one) the experience i had with this computer is "SUPER" from the design to it's performance. Perhaps the only set back i have with this computer would be it's sound performance. I am used in playing music but i am having a hard time hearing the sound, comparing it to the G40 computer. overall, performance, design, RELIABILITY, and resolution.
Excerpt: I have had this laptop for around 1 year now, and bought it new form www.ebuyer.com for around £400, but this most likely can be bought for much less today. Overall it is a good laptop that had many pros, but also many cons. PROS --> - Being made by IBM this laptop is generally robust and durable, and feels sturdy to touch. - It comes with the IBM rapid recovery software, this allows you to completely reformat the hard disk, without using a disk.
Excerpt: What a top class notebook for the price. Comes ready to use, straight out of the box, mine came with plenty of software to get me started on. The pentium processor and half a gig of ram, complete many tasks with ease. A nice matte 15" tft monitor, seems to resist scratches because of its non-shiny surface. It's trackpoint mouse takes a bit of time to get used too, but once you have cracked it, it is much better than the touchpads on most laptops.
Excerpt: As with all Thinkpads, they arent the best lookers. The dull black appearance scratches esaily, and the rim around the monitor isnt exactly wonderful. Though after all, the laptop is cheap, and it does what it syas on the tin. If you intend to use it for word documents and that sort of thing, it's fine. You can use it for older games, but dont expect any miracles. One of the laptops letdowns is it's memory - it comes with about half of what most modern laptops do.
Excerpt: I previously owned the HP NX 9110, 5.4 inch screen and a heavy laptop, and heavy bulky power supply unit. My next laptop as the company has changed there specs again is now a completely different make IBM. I have found with the IBM Think pad, the shape and style of the laptop has not changed much from many previous years. Forget style on this occasion though. The laptop is very light weight and has an amazing battery life.
Pros: Light Weight, Cheap but good, Really good battery life
Cons: Strange lid, not easy to open with 1 hand, lack of usb ports
Excerpt: I was bought this laptop as a surprise present, and have had no wishes for it to have been anything else! At first I thought the design looked a bit dated, and this has been commented on by other people, it does look a bit like something from the 1990s, but one grows to love it, and looks don't matter that much in a laptop.
Pros: built in wireless, large screen, joystick, ibm features
