Review Lenovo ThinkPad L420 NYV4UGE Notebook

Notebookcheck
28 August 2011
  • Summary: Little office worker. According to Lenovo, it's introducing a notebook that is to save time and money with the ThinkPad L420. We're putting the ThinkPad L420 with an Intel Core i5-2520M processor through its paces.
  • Pros: Known ThinkPad case quality, Very good keyboard, Spill-proof, Trackpoint in addition to the touchpad, UMTS built-in/ready, Quiet operation, Matt display, Docking port, The first rate keyboard that Lenovo installs into its ThinkPads is also one of the L420's big highlights.
  • Cons: Contrast poor display, Moderate power reserves, No USB 3.0, Lenovo has unfortunately not given the laptop a USB 3.0 port. It would have really been a sensible expansion for the ThinkPad L420.

Lenovo ThinkPad L420

LAPTOP Magazine
28 April 2011
  • Summary: The $898 ThinkPad L420 falls somewhere between the high-powered T series and the more small-business focused Edge lineup. As such, it borrows the security features and docking capability of the former line, but the more affordable pricing of the latter. Regardless, this laptop's great keyboard, snappy performance, and reasonable price make it a compelling option for professionals who aren't willing sacrifice quality.
  • Pros: Great keyboard, Affordable price, Good battery life, Quick boot time
  • Cons: Weak audio, Multitouch gestures don't work well, Design a bit bland
