I hate this thing!

lynn, Amazon
3 November 2013
  • Summary: The computing part is great, however, the touch pad is absolutely HORRIBLE! I had been using it for a while and it was fine, but hated the tap feature. After adjusting some settings to get it not to click on everything, now I can't get it to stop scrolling and selecting text to save my life.

Cheap

X, Amazon
29 August 2013
  • Summary: I had heard good things about the old pre-Lenovo buyout Thinkpads, so I thought I'd give this one a shot. It feels cheaply made. The trackpad on it is a nuisance. It's hyper-sensitive and reads almost any touch as a click, which means I am inadvertently clicking on ads all the time.

Good specs, but disappointing

T, Amazon
20 July 2013
  • Summary: On paper this looks good, and the price is right. However, there are a number of very annoying things about this laptop that have made me swear to never buy Lenovo again. First, the trackpad is horrible. It jumps and fails to register sometimes.

Not good

Jose P., Newegg
20 June 2013
  • Summary: The company i work for recently got a big batch of these, and while preparing the corporate image, i was very disappointed by how poor it's performance is with a fresh Win 7 install.
  • Pros: Can't find any.
  • Cons: Just not a good laptop for its price range. If ordered with Win 7, might not have a set of Win 7 recovery media, or the Win 7 key sticker, so no license if things go south. License key seems to have been removed from the registry on the Win 7 build. Preloaded image is mostly unusable. After the i...

User Review

Arch W., Newegg
28 April 2013
  • Pros: Cheap
  • Cons: Slow as cold molasses. Took two days to get all the Windows updates installed (had to do them one by one with a reboot between each or they failed).

Last 2 Had Problems

Pawel K., Newegg
5 April 2013
  • Summary: I did call Lenovo support, they were absolutely useless. I got bounced around to some guy clearly in another country when the call center said I was being transferred to Georgia. He argued with me that I didn't have windows 7 instead had windows 8 (when I was clearly looking at the windows 7 desktop...
  • Pros: I ordered 10 of these in the last year with no issues. I've been recommending these laptops to everyone and when they get them they love them (when they work WITH windows 7)
  • Cons: The last 2 had major problems. The first laptop came with windows 7, which is what we wanted. The newegg site said the operating was windows 7 (they changed the top of their specs to windows 8 while I was on the phone with them with my issue but the description still says windows 7). Anyway, firs...

Nice budget friendly computer but...

Mark O., Newegg
3 April 2013
  • Summary: Computer was slow right out of the box, acted as if it was having memory issues. Windows updates continually failed, programs would have serious lag when opening, and got BSOD less then one day after receiving it.
  • Pros: Nice tactile feel to keyboard, touch pad worked well and wasn't overly sensitive.
  • Cons: Low memory from manufacturer, ordered 4 gb at same time I ordered computer. Didn't help in my case due to other issues straight out of box.

Disappointingly Slow

Brad M., Newegg
22 February 2013
  • Summary: I've purchased many Lenovo and ASUS notebooks over the last several years and this one is by far the worst I've encountered.
  • Pros: Can't think of any....
  • Cons: Even after uninstalling all the bloatware, takes about 2 minutes to fully load windows, takes about 30 - 45 seconds to shut down. I bought two and had them side-by-side while setting them up - both were extremely slow loading. One had a hard drive that was clicking - I was on a deadline so replac...

with only 2 GB performance is horrible

Laura R., Newegg
11 January 2013
  • Summary: to improve the performance, people install windows from usb. Download Windows 7 USB-DVD-tool from Microsoft and X17-24281; with these you make a bootable USB drive; use it with the Windows 7 key located under the battery. Install only the really needed drivers from Lenovo.
  • Pros: price and Windows 7 Pro. It can be a good laptop, but it needs min. 4 GB and hours of work.
  • Cons: Because of the bloatware, windows update does not work. Out of 68 updates, 7 failed. Then, after restart, most of the successful updates were reversed/cancelled, and the (instead of 7), there were 59 updates. Repeated the update process again, and, again, ended up with 59 updates that would not i...

Kein echtes Thinkpad - nach 3 Jahren hinüber

Blago, Amazon
12 July 2015
