Summary: I kept this one for myself. Upgraded to i5 processor at 2.6 Ghz and 6 GB of memory. Works like a new laptop with large screen and good keyboard layout. Performance is great and cost economical. Upgrades parts also from EBay.
Summary: We use Lenovo for a lot of our laptops and they perform very well, This laptop was no exception. We purchased this, took out the slow HDD and dropped in a SSD and this thing FLYS! Can't go wrong with this one!
Summary: I had the same unit but my son killed it somehow and shorted out the mother board so buying this one was perfect as I swapped the hard drive and now my son has the laptop again. runs great and it is exactly what i was looking for.
Summary: Alough this computer did break, the way that their customer service handled the issue was the best I,ve ever seen and will always buy lenovo's from now on.
Pros: Durible, fast for a laptop, decant display, and another nice lenovo sculpted keyboard (be sure to read all of con section)
Cons: Unfortionatly the MOBO did die on the laptop a few months in (but their customer service made me give it 5 eggs). After a heated dispute with Asus rma service that week, I wasn't very happy. After calling up lenovo I received a agent called Albert who was as far as I remember, the best customer service representatives I've ever met. He was VERY nice and considerate. After going through the typical over the phone rma stuff, I was shocked to open my door the next moarni...
Summary: This laptop was bought for me as a birthday present in 2009. Still in good working order now, and laptops only have a life expectancy of 2-3 years maximum. I have had to pay a professional once to sort it out but that was because the hard drive was encrypted with crap and viruses, trojans etc. However after a big glitch about a year ago with some patience it yet again sorted itself out and restored back to brilliant working order.
Summary: I brought this laptop model 5 years ago and I think it was 100 years old when I purchased it. I think I paid around £200 for it second hand from a pc dealer. Although the thing runs on steam it's not that bad and it's still working..........just. I am on my second charger and that one is a cheap Chinese model so I get mild electric shocks through the space where the 'w' key should be but at least it wakes me up in the morning quicker than a coffee.
Summary: In December 2008 i purchased a eMachines E520 15.4-inch Laptop, Intel Celeron 575, Vista Home Basic, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD as a gift. What i am very pleased with is, when it developed a fault in April 2009,it was replaced within three days.My foster child is on the computer all the time and spends hours listening to music and talking with his mates.I feel i can recommend this computer as a good alround starter to learn computer skills, and i think good value.
