Summary: I kept this one for myself. Upgraded to i5 processor at 2.6 Ghz and 6 GB of memory. Works like a new laptop with large screen and good keyboard layout. Performance is great and cost economical. Upgrades parts also from EBay.
Summary: I had the same unit but my son killed it somehow and shorted out the mother board so buying this one was perfect as I swapped the hard drive and now my son has the laptop again. runs great and it is exactly what i was looking for.
Summary: This laptop was bought for me as a birthday present in 2009. Still in good working order now, and laptops only have a life expectancy of 2-3 years maximum. I have had to pay a professional once to sort it out but that was because the hard drive was encrypted with crap and viruses, trojans etc. However after a big glitch about a year ago with some patience it yet again sorted itself out and restored back to brilliant working order.
Summary: I brought this laptop model 5 years ago and I think it was 100 years old when I purchased it. I think I paid around £200 for it second hand from a pc dealer. Although the thing runs on steam it's not that bad and it's still working..........just. I am on my second charger and that one is a cheap Chinese model so I get mild electric shocks through the space where the 'w' key should be but at least it wakes me up in the morning quicker than a coffee.
Summary: For the price its really good. Its quick, reliable, does what I want it to do which is surfing, keeping photo's on and playing the odd game here and there. Its now 5 years old and has been fine except for the charger which has been replaced twice but they're cheap enough so I don't mind that. I've dropped mine a couple or three times with no adverse effect so it must be well built. I'm happy enough thanks.
Excerpt: This Lenovo laptop in my opinion is everything you would need to complete your daily tasks, i use it for work every day and for browsing the internet in the evenings what’s good about the laptop for me is that has expandable RAM up to 8Gb which is more than enough for me to run all of my applications which is a lot as i have a tendency to leave everything running.
Pros: the laptop has lots of extra features, the battery life is quite good
Summary: I must say, not impressed bought one a few years ago, ok too start with, but when you start putting apps on it etc, it gets as slow as heck! I even upgraded it to 2 gig of ram, made no noticeable difference, but for the price, I guess its ok...
Summary: Seasoned laptop user (I actually build them.) Broke, with no rhyme or reason, took it apart and tried everything to no avail (very poor layout might I add.) Save yourself the heartache and get a dell or a samsung!
Summary: Purchased the eMachines E520 for my Mum ( a keen 'silver surfer' ), who is as delighted with it as I am. A new laptop, unbelievably good value at well under £300 in our case, only reason for this exceptionally low price being it was noted as being direct from 'Littlewoods Returns'. In fact it arrived quickly, in pristine, new condition, and was rapidly and faultlessly set up and in use. Everything works well and it's promising to prove an excellent purchase.
