WhyMe, Amazon

  • Summary: Fast and solid feeling. Downside is a touchy mouse and a rather short battery life. There is also quite a bit of pre-loaded stuff that needs to be uninstalled (including mcaffee), though I doubt you will find any computer that doesn't suffer from this problem. If I considered the windows 8.1 OS in my review I would have given this 1 star.

Sayeed Chawdhury, Amazon

  • Summary: Except for AC Adapter message, Battery issues machine run fine. Which Lenovo replaces them with express shipping if you call them. I am a HP customer for 20 yrs. found Lenovos customer service better than HP.

  • Summary: The PC nominally met my expectation, did not experience the expected boost in performance when compared with my older Dell with i3 processor with 6GB Windows 8.1, however is a troublesome OS. After a few days I decided to revert to Windows 7, however the drivers were not available.

mixed.

Donna L. Harrington "joint heirs", Amazon
25 August 2014
  • Summary: Issues with it from the beginning, I don't know if I have a lemon or not. NO bluray as advertised from seller, and the metal grate that covers the on/off button and speakers keeps curling up and off. Seller is not easy to deal with either. The other thing that I noticed and am not too pleased with is that the black matt cover seems to just get marks and every single finger print that you can imagine.

It's Just OK

Leeza, Amazon
4 May 2014
  • Summary: I just received mine a little under a week ago, so the jury is still out. Three things I DON'T like about it: Glossy screen Soft keyboard Touchpad (Trackpad) The last one is the worst. It takes the portability out of having a laptop. The stupid thing is so glitchy that it's useless and I have to use a mouse. Half the time it doesn't work and then when it does it has a mind of its own and ends up in random places on a page. Makes it a challenge to write anything quickly.

It's OK, but not spectacular

John Cannon, Amazon
21 April 2014
  • Summary: I searched for two weeks for what I thought would be the perfect laptop for me, but this one has disappointed me. There is a lot to like. but several really irritating things have taken the thrill of a new laptop away. What I like is the beautiful resolution. Very nice. Very nice sound too. The powercord design is a winner! Almost looks like a USB connector, and will be far less likely to cause a loose power jack connection inside.

Crashes when using DirectX11 programs. (updated)

William J Glunt, Amazon
17 February 2014
  • Summary: Bought this to replace 4 year old laptop. Was very excited to receive this laptop. Construction is of good quality as i would expect from Lenovo, and the 17" screen is beautiful. Normal tasks work like a charm, so I wanted to test its gaming performance. So i installed Steam. First up was Borderlands 2, because Steam was having a free weekend for it. ran like a champ. Looked better than the Xbox 360 version. The real problems started with Civ5.

Ok laptop

Albert Wong, Amazon
22 December 2013
  • Summary: I bought this laptop as an early Christmas present for my 11 year old nephew and he told me that he does not like window 8 that came with the laptop. The laptop seem pretty solid except for when I first unpacked this laptop the mesh screen that covers the speakers and on/off button is and still is loose with the left side bending upwards. I guess they did not glue or otherwise seal the mesh screen properly during its construction.

Not For Me

Business Appman, Amazon
28 November 2013
  • Summary: Though I like Lenovo as a brand, and I liked many features of this laptop, I returned it for two main reasons. 1) The touch pad is so large, and extends so far left, that my left hand, in rest position, would graze it and bounce me out of normal typing. 2) The keyboard layout, though it may meet today's standards, was not a standard layout that I am used to using.
