Summary: This laptop can't handle very much. Try to run more than one thing at a time and it slows to a crawl. I know it's not the most powerful laptop and it's priced pretty low, but for 6GB of RAM I would expect it to perform better.
Summary: I got my Lenovo Z580 in early 2011 and it works amazingly, I really do love it. The processor is just about perfect, as with the RAM, amount of ports, the screen, etc.... Summary: I've been using a Lenovo Thinkpad Edge for the last two years for work and love it. So I bought my wife the Ideapad z580 the other day. For the money you can't get better specs. Intel core i5 processor, 8gb Ram, 750gb hardrive were included in a $499 deal at Staples.
Excerpt: Windows 8 is NOT user friendly, confusing set up. Can't set up kids as users without having their own email. Is not as fast as expected. Convaluted and confusing. Not easy to navigate to control panel and printer set up, etc.
Pros: Quality Construction
Cons: Difficult To Set Up, Hard To Use, Not Fast, Unreliable
Summary: I did research before choosing a laptop, and this one seemed to have the features I was looking for: 15" or larger screen, good processor and plenty of RAM, and a brand that consistently gets good customer reviews. Positives first: The LED screen is very vibrant.
Excerpt: Received this laptop as a gift to replace a 7 year old unit. It has the new 16: 9 format making the entire unit wider but providing room for a numerical pad on the right side of the key board. The problem is the mouse pad. It comes with what Lenovo calls an intelligent touchpad.
