Lenovo IdeaPad Z580 Review

Tech2
14 November 2012
  • Summary: At Rs. 64,990 (end user price), the Lenovo IdeaPad Z580 might come across as expensive. But the quad-core Core i7 processor, 8GB of RAM, 1TB hard drive and Blu-ray combo drive quite justify the heavy price tag. If Lenovo would have included a more powerful graphics processor and full HD display, this laptop would have been a killer deal. Nonetheless, if you want plenty of power for serious multitasking and casual gaming, you should consider the Z580.

Lenovo IdeaPad Z580 59 333346

  • Summary: The IdeaPad Z580 has our recommendation with no hesitation, at this price, and this performance. It has extremely powerful specs nicely held together by a sophisticated looking and reasonably built chassis. It is urprisingly not as heavy as we had expected it to be, however, it doesnt also come with ultrabook-like slimness.
  • Pros: Excellent performance, Sophisticated looks, Decent battery life (for a desktop replacement)
  • Cons: Too much crapware preloaded, Similar spec Inspiron 15R Special Edition costs less

Notebookcheck
13 September 2012
  • Summary: Budgetainer. The best way to describe the new Lenovo IdeaPad Z580 might be “a mix of cheap and entertaining”. The plastic case includes a 15.6-inch screen, the latest connections, and attractive hardware. Our test model features the Core i5-3210M and an Nvidia GeForce GT 630M, corresponding to the middle of the pack in terms of both price and performance.
  • Pros: Big range of models, Easy to expand, Current wireless technologies, Performance of components, Much storage (HDD), Good stereo speakers, Acceptable battery life, The good performance of the multimedia components, the simple expansion and the various models.
  • Cons: Interface arrangement, No Gigabit Ethernet on board, Only 12 Months warranty, Keyboard layout pushed slightly, Cheaper 15.6-inch screen, Temperature development under load, Better positioning of the interfaces, a more efficient cooling system under load and a high quality screen.

Lenovo IdeaPad Z580 Review

LAPTOP Magazine
10 July 2012
  • Summary: The Lenovo IdeaPad Z580 is a capable multimedia laptop that combines solid construction, impressive sound and strong overall performance. At $679, this notebook is reasonably priced, though the design feels a bit chunky. Consumers for whom a multimedia-focused suite of apps is a priority will want to check out the sleeker Sony VAIO E15 ($699), but the Z580 lasts longer on a charge and has a better keyboard. Overall, the IdeaPad Z580 is a very good value.
