Summary: For my use it is great, not going to get technical here. The only problem I have is when I am typing I have to turn off the mouse pad cause the cursor go all over the place and my type gets highlighted and deleted. I have had other laptops and this never happened with the others. It is irritating enough for me to have not bought this laptop if I had known about it.
Summary: I got this Lenovo because I essentially needed a jack-of-all-trades laptop that could replace a desktop while I'm stuck living in a small apartment. To that end, it has served me really well. Keyboard 9/10 -------- Keyboard is really nice. I have heard all Lenovo keyboards are great; this is my first Lenovo, and I do agree. Very comfortable, and it comes with a 10-key pad on the side which I like to use.
Summary: I purchased one of these locally for my girlfriend. I was initally going with a G570 but really wanted the top-mounted speakers and HDMI out. The shortcut keys (volume control) were nice to have as well. Also, the Z-series looks much sharper with the brushed metal casing (still primarily plastic, probably metal over plastic...). I got lots of compliments on the machine too as I brought it to work to configure everything. But what about the title?
Summary: I purchased the laptop as a device for when I travel on business and for my wife to use when at home. This computer is fast and well built. It looks nice for a computer and brand that aren't hung up on looks. It is functional and does what it is supposed to and it does it fast. For a laptop, it seems to run cool; it is warm but by no means hot. This is a good thing as we haven't needed to buy a lap fan. I generally hate the thumb pads on these computers.
Summary: So far happy with this laptop. Not too much bloatware and some of the pre installed software is actually useful. Some issues I have run into... ~ Trying to use the Bluray player to output to my TV I get an HDCP error. Major drag. ~ Uses Nvidia Optimus which doesn't work so great on Linux. Eventually I might upgrade to a SSD as this comes with the slower 5400 rpm drive.
Summary: Overall this was a good purchase for the price and including the free Xbox promotion, it was well worth it. I immediately upgraded to 8G Ram so I'm not sure how it was with the 4G but it didn't really make much sense to have an i7 processor and only 4G Ram. I only really use it for processing data and it has plenty of power to crank out long MatLab scripts with ease.
Summary: The Lenovo Ideapad Z560 is different from other computers I have had in at least three ways, two good and one bad: 1. The keys, perhaps because they may be larger, are easier to use, making typing easier. 2. There is a button to instantly mute the computer sound--This is great for libraries. 3. The power connection keeps slipping out. (To stop this I put the cord on front of the screen.) You might take these three things in consideration in your buying decisions.
Summary: Overall I like the laptop. It's fast, quiet, sound quality is good. The design and features are nice too. The only negative is the battery life. Really short. Just surfing the web it will only last about 3 hours before I have to charge it again. However, when I do have to charge it, it charges quickly. Overall great laptop. I would recommend it. Also amazons shipping is excellent. Received the item quickly with regular standard shipping.
Summary: I was not expecting to have a "Ferrari" of the notebooks when I bought this due the very low price compared with similar models, but the product is above my expectation. I loved the etal finishing on it and the fact that does not have with too much "proprietary" Lenovo applications as my last notebook purchased from them. This one has only what really helps. Only surprised that is heavier than expected and the webcam could be better.
Summary: This laptop is almost perfect. I had owned a Macbook Pro 13 inch but returned it because of the very expensive price tag. I purchased this Lenovo laptop after a lot of thought and searching and I am happy with it. The Lenovo extras are excellent. Windows 7 is sooo much better than Vista. The screen's clarity and resolution are excellent. The build quality of the actual laptop is nice and light, but it does not feel as solid as a Macbook Pro.
