Excerpt: I being a Mechanical Engineering student wanted a laptop easy on the pocket, decent specifications and high quality build along with great looks and a good badge value. In March, I decided that I need a laptop as the desktop could not suffice my mobile requirements and the hunt began with a budget ...
Summary: I've had this for several months and after some issues with Battery control and other things which required some support calls to a Lenovo authorised warranty site to update the drivers etc. (I'm not IT savvy but they were very helpful and talked me through the needed steps and sent email instructions) it has worked well and with the i7 CPU is very fast.. Be aware though this does NOT come with MS Office or any other type of Office applications.
Summary: The laptop works fine but I had some problems with the drivers for the Win 8.1. I had a problem with the screen brightness as well, suddenly the backlight went off and I could barely see what it was showing... I got it 'fixed' by adjusting the screen brightness while the laptop was booting.
Summary: Nice at view, fast processor, boots very fastly but there's a problem with internet connectivity. It loses the wi-fi signal quite often and this becomes very annoying... Great laptop but it has wi-fi problem.
Solid laptop for the price, some issues at the start
17 February 2014
Summary: This is a good laptop for its price range. Like others have said, some things are less than ideal like the slightly squishy keyboard, not very responsive track pad and relatively low resolution (1366x768). Also, you can't remove the battery. None of these issues really bother me for what I want it for however there were quite a few issues to be resolved when I first took delivery of the laptop.
Summary: This laptop has proven to be an excellent choice, and I have absolutely no complaints. It arrived earlier than expected, set itself up after boot-up, and has fulfilled its purpose of being the games laptop which I purchased it for. Even Windows 8 has been great, despite some of the things I'd read about it. A fantastic purchase.
Summary: I knew before I bought it than one of the issue was there are only 3 usb ports. I think in this day and age there should be more but the main issue is where they are. 2 of them in the right side exactly where you would have your mouse. I know this is minor but it is irritating especially if you don't have a prime minister desk. Other than that, I found free program on the net to get Windows 7 interface (cannot get used to Windows 8) and that was one issue less.
