Good functionality for the price; fragile construction

Summary: I had purchased this laptop for my son's 15th birthday in March. The wireless networking function ceased to work within two weeks. Lenovo tech support could offer little help. Amazon customer service was excellent, exchanging the unit for a new one. Good processing speed and good features for the price. My son wrapped the laptop in bubble wrap and carried it in a padded computer case. The case fell about 2 1/2 feet in October which cracked the screen.
Summary: If you do your research you'll quickly find some seriously angry Y560 owners out there, and I was one of them. To quickly get to the point, you have to download every driver update available, including bios. Otherwise you'll barely be able to watch a youtube video. NO JOKE. The Lenovo support site is completely barebones, and although it does have a'smart downloader' which will scan your system and figure out which drivers to download and replace, it only seems to work...
Summary: When I receive this item, I inspect everything and find a crack on the front side(near the small LED light). It may be a defect or damage from shipping,so I decided to return this laptop. This laptop is beautiful and with powerful CPU and Graphics chip--ATI 5730,but it seems plastic. In addition I didn't find a 32G SSD inside(I use software to detect). Amazon website shows this laptop comes with a 32G SSD. Why?
Summary: Purchased this laptop in the 8GB RAM version about a month ago. I always wait at least that long to render judgement so I have time to put it through all sorts of normal operations. After extensive work/play/school use I think the following best describes this unit. You can do better in this price range. Pros: Super fast!!
Summary: I know that this is supposed to be a product review but I personally think that what I will say here might be of some help to someone contemplating a purchase. I've more or less settled on this machine as a purchase for my wife but won't do so for a few weeks - however I'm compelled to comment on purchasing from Amazon as against buying from Lenovo Direct.
