Summary: I purchased this product about 6 months ago after using an HP for over two years. The SSD was remarkable to me, but has slowed down the start time overall as time has gone on. The faulty mousepad seems to be as a default after going over other reviews. As a university student, I don't ask for a lot in terms of performance, but I am able to do my work, watch movies, and even play some games. I'm pretty satisfied with this product.
Summary: Owned a thinkpad for as long as I can remember. Loved them. This is no thinkpad. Avoid this machine and go with the T440s. Wifi is terrible (slow, drops, need reboot to connect) to the point where I needed an external wifi key. Keyboard is more Dell like than the lovable thinkpad keyboards of the past. Miss the red trackball big time on this unit and the touchpad is slow and heavy. It came bundled with Windows 8 which didn't help matters.
Summary: I like everything about this laptop...Except the touchpad. Unfortunately, the inadequate touchpad is worth taking 2 stars off because it makes everything so much harder to do. I can't tell you how many times I've accidentally opened up the side menu or activated some other touchpad shortcut that I wasn't aware existed.
Summary: As stated by others, the touch pad acts randomly: sometimes it's ok, sometimes the cursor wanders by its own will. Mouse also behaves that way. It's weird. Good thing is the lightened keyboard.
Summary: lot of problems, 1. popular wifi issue, 2. when you press touch pad the mouse pointer just jumps to another place, 3. and when you try to sleep the laptop, it is just shutting down the computer.
