Summary: Literally falling apart. Well speced at a decent price I thought this attractive laptop would be a great replacement. I can even deal with the WiFi dropping frequently. This is my 3rd Lenovo but it will be my last. The chassis and screen is literally falling apart. It started to fall apart after only a few months being used at home only. After being in grad school in a reinforced laptop bag, it is completely falling apart.
Summary: I bought this laptop because it seemed like a really good deal, but oh boy it was just a nightmare. I wanted a laptop that did the basics(office, email, facebook, netflix), basic photo editing, and light graphic design/web editing. The laptop is okay for basics, but everything else is troublesome. I wanted to install a graphic design cd (win 8 approved) but the laptop kept rejecting it for some strange reason.
Summary: I purchased this computer in Jan of 2013. Originally I was quite happy with it, it worked perfectly and I even liked Windows 8. Then, a few weeks ago it started to get a little sluggish, and taking longer and longer to boot up. Next, it suddenly began freezing during the startup process. I've reformatted the hard drive to no avail (so it's a hardware problem), but it broke 2 months past their 1 year warranty, so tech support is no help to me. It *will* turn on..
Summary: The wifi connection: Major pain in the butt. I have designated a home secure router to automatically connect, but this almost never happens. I have had this laptop in a shop to fix this, and still having problem. "Automatically connect" is a joke. Lenovo software: Makes you unproductive. You have to wait while Lenovo stuff sorts itself out. Boot up: Can take 10-20 minutes.
Summary: it started out with the touchpad which was faulty, as so typical of this model. Had that fixed after googleing for days on end about what the problem could be. But overall its just a very bad pc, considering the quality one expects nowdays - expecially from this brand. I really hate the keyboard---except the backlit part, which is great.
NOT for us users with only average computer skills.

Summary: This is turning out to be a pretty good laptop, but it is only through wasting LOTS of time feeling my way around the software due to a complete lack of instructions. I am new to Windows 8 and without some guidance have been floundering to make it work. There was NO documentation in the box, not even a quick-start brochure that would have at least taught me how to turn the thing off (no, it is NOT intuitively designed).
