Summary: Lenovo should have pulled this from the market, but they ignored the problem and sold them all. I wish I'd known before buying. My bad for being taken in with the specs and reasonable price, and not checking reviews. The wireless is so fragile, you can never be sure if it will connect or not. I have Win 8; the update to 8.1 didn't help. Going to the intel site and getting their driver seems to have helped a bit.
Summary: Initially the specs are what drew me towards purchasing this machine. BIG MISTAKE! I have had several issues with this device. The first and most major being the WiFi connectivity. The download/upload speeds are horrendous and the device's range is terrible as well. After updating to Windows 8.1 several of the features have been buggy as well like the touch interface and the computer seems to be running slower overall. Since the 8.1 update my audio driver has not worked.
Summary: This laptop never worked properly from the beginning. I thought it was due to my infamiliarity with windows 8, but that ended up not being the case. My wife and I run nothing too complex...Pictures, excel, word, PPT, web surfing. Eventually the computer slowed down and we took it to the Best Buy Geek Squad. They were good and did what they could, but it ended that a new hard drive was required.
Summary: The laptop which i bought worked fine for a month. After that a vertical green line came up on the screen and it was an LCD defect. I checked the warranty on lenovo site and found to my astonishment that the warranty had expired. The seller had sold me a laptop which was 1yr old.So please do not buy product from this seller. I was cheated by the seller as now I have to pay to get it repaired though my laptop is just 3 months old.
Summary: Above all else, what should scare you away from Lenovo the most is that they've known for over a year that this product (the U410) is defective, and yet they still sell it, ship it out, and then act surprised when you call technical support. If you read a few more reviews, you can easily figure out that the WiFi is defective on these units to the point of being unusable 95% of the time. Both the connectivity and speed are incredibly bad.
Summary: I've had this computer in for repair twice in less than a year of owning it. Once for a bad hard drive and now for a bad motherboard. I've also had to restore it to factory twice because it wasn't recognizing my hard drive.

Summary: We bought this computer new and had to return it because the wireless internet did not work properly. The operating system and other programs seemed to work okay, but the wireless didn't work. We know the problem had to do with the computer because other laptops we had in the home worked fine. We spent a few hours with customer support, but they were not able to fix the problem. We also researched the problem online.
Summary: I had to send it in for repairs within a month of having it and it still didn't get fixed completely! Both Lenovo and this seller are giving the customers a defective product and you should not get this laptop!!! Save the extra cash and go for another PC or Mac. The company doesn't even want to own up to their product and give a refund for a defective product, I only dealt with it for the semester because I needed it for school.
