Summary: Above all else, what should scare you away from Lenovo the most is that they've known for over a year that this product (the U410) is defective, and yet they still sell it, ship it out, and then act surprised when you call technical support. If you read a few more reviews, you can easily figure out that the WiFi is defective on these units to the point of being unusable 95% of the time. Both the connectivity and speed are incredibly bad.
Lenovo will not cover this products faulty design.

Summary: Update! After much crying on the phone with Lenovo they finally repaired my unit at no cost. It came back fine and is working well. Lenovo came through but it took some arm twisting to get them to do so. ---------------------------------------------------------------- I purchased this laptop a few months ago. It met my expectations. It's not a super performer but it got the job done and I had no complaints until a couple of weeks ago.
Pros: This laptop broke on me before i can make a valid use of Pros
Cons: I bought this laptop for the upcoming college semester about 2 weeks ago, I've barely used it other than using the internet a couple times a week. After two weeks of barely using it the laptop won't boot up... at all. I've tried everything from safe mode to one key recovery and booting the windows 7 setup from USB and nothing works. I assume the hard drive crashed or something which is absolutely ridiculous considering I have barely used it AT ALL. Don't be like me an...
Summary: This is my worst decision to buy this computer. Was the first time I was buying a lenovo. The wifi gets disconnected all the time. Just imagine you are in the middle of watching a movie or in a conference call or playing some games. I am thinking of going for anger management counseling. Just one problem of wifi and I am mentally disturbed. If Lenovo is reading this please find me a solution or else I am throwing this in the garbage.
don't buy this computer - wireless internet is terrible

Summary: We bought this computer new and had to return it because the wireless internet did not work properly. The operating system and other programs seemed to work okay, but the wireless didn't work. We know the problem had to do with the computer because other laptops we had in the home worked fine. We spent a few hours with customer support, but they were not able to fix the problem. We also researched the problem online.
Summary: DO NOT BUY THIS LAPTOP! This is my first amazon review and I was motivated to write it because of the totally unusable experience I've had with it. The wireless is unusable. I'm a pretty sophisticated computer user and we have multiple devices operating on our wifi network but this computer without question has repeated wifi connection problems. In addition, the trackpad driver software crashes constantly when microsoft office is opened.
Summary: I could not believe how noise is the fan of this computer. It seems like I am beside an engine. After 5 minutes I turned the computer off. The vendor that sold me the computer through Amazon is asking for a 15% return fee. As I don't want to pay that fee, I tried to use the computer, but every time I turn it on I get so disturbed with the noise that I cannot use it. The noise is definitely unbearable. I do not recommend this computer.
Summary: I bought the Lenovo U410 on Cyber Monday 2012 on the lenovo USA website. It had wifi connectivity issues, where download speed on wifi is terribly slow, as described in the tremendously long discussion log on the lenovo support site. After a while I gave up and returned the laptop, because it seems to be a design problem. The return process was pretty painless, so at least that was good. But I wasted time installing software and troubleshooting the wifi problem.
