Like the idea of owning a laptop nearly as light as a netbook, but don’t want to settle for a small screen and cramped keyboard? Then take a good look at the Lenovo IdeaPad U350. This $749 system (starting at $679) offers a larger 13-inch screen and a more comfortable typing experience, plus a more powerful processor than the typical mini-notebook. Read more

Depending on how you look at it, the 13.3-inch Lenovo IdeaPad U350 is either a step up from a netbook or a step down from an ultraportable. Like a netbook, this 2.8-pound machine is easy to carry, but it’s faster and more comfortable to use than any netbook we’ve seen to date; of course, the $749 price also makes it more expensive than a netbook. Falling somewhere between a netbook and a "traditional" notebook, the IdeaPad U350 is competition for the MSI X340 and Acer 5810T – notebooks suitable mostly for office applications and occasional photo work or video editing if you aren’t in too much of a hurry. Read more

Overall, the IdeaPad U350 finds a comfortable balance between Lenovo's ThinkPad and 3000 ranges. It may not be the best ultraportable, but it's a highly usable machine and sure to suit small to medium business use. Read more

I bought the ideapad in NY but I live in Argentina. 6 months after purchasing it the web cam stopped working, so I called lenovo in Argentina and the told me to take the machine to the US. So I took it to KW Computer Services, Lenovo's service representative in Miami, and they couldn't fix the problem. Finally I went back to Argentina very frustated. Read more

I use this computer mainly for internet, music, and movies. Since I take it to class every day, its super light-weight build makes it a dream to carry in my bag. While it hiccups every once in a while, its a strong performer for its size. As it is essentially a netbook on steroids, it has a nice size screen and keyboard that actually enable world. the key is though to get as much RAM as possible. Read more

Best size not too small like netbook not as big as a laptop, great quality, and beautiful, beautiful as it can get. Rugged top lcd case gives no chance for finger prints and rugged surface to withstand scratches. Sound is very good for a laptop this size. The power, Yes the power of dual core cpu agains the wimpy atom netbooks gives this computer a HUGE advantage. Read more or see product

This notebook is great for my needs of using the internet, watching movies & Office 2007. Price point is great for those who are willig to spend a little bit more on a full blown notebook. The design is very nice and this notebook stands out against Acer & MSI. Battery life is awesome for a 4 cell and I read online Lenovo will probably offer a 8 cell with new models. I am sure they will offer the battery as stand alone. Read more
