The display of the Lenovo IdeaPad U1 Hybrid can be unhinged and used as a multitouch slate tablet by it self or snapped back into its upright position in the laptop’s chassis to be used as a normal multitouch screen display for the clamshell notebook.
The Lenovo IdeaPad U1 Hybrid operates on two processors; a CULV Core 2 Duo processor that is incorporated into the main unit, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor that is incorporates into the multitouch screen display. When used as a notebook, the Lenovo IdeaPad U1 Hybrid will run on the CULV Core 2 Duo processor that runs the Windows 7 Home Premium operating system. But when the screen is retracted from its shell, the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor takes over and runs on Lenovo’s customized Skylight Linux interface. In addition to that, the screen also has its own memory space in the form of a 16 GB SSD memory card while there is a 128 GB SSD that is connected into the base section. The Lenovo IdeaPad U1 Hybrid weighs approximately 3.8 pounds and its size is no larger than a piece of notebook paper. Besides that, the Lenovo IdeaPad U1 Hybrid will also feature an HD LED display that measures 11.6 inches diagonally. In addition to that, the Lenovo IdeaPad U1 Hybrid also incorporates an accelerometer that can automatically control portrait/ landscape screen rotation that does so quickly with minimal screen-redraw fuss. Not only that, the switch between the notebook and tablet mode is also rapid, ensuring seamless transition from one processor to another.
