Terrible...

EtherBunny, Newegg
18 March 2014
  • Pros: Lightweight.... That's it.
  • Cons: Very slow, We've had trouble with the wireless the entire time we've had the computer and Lenovo Customer support has been less than helpful. We've been working with them to get the problem fixed but it just keeps getting passed on to someone else without a solution. Also, windows 8 is designed for tablets or touch screens. It makes it incredibly difficult to navigate to the programs you want. I have another lenovo computer and I absolutely love it. It's too bad there...

Do Not buy Lenovo!!

DKM Integrated Software Solutions LLC, Amazon
23 August 2013
  • Summary: The computer seemed to work ok, it was only $435.00 so the expectations weren't huge. I use it for work, I wanted a lower end unit for basic work, email, spreadsheets, etc. After a flight the screen went crazy, it started rolling in a very tight band in the middle, you could make out what was there but had a heck of a time clicking it. I looked it over and there were no cracks in the screen.

bad quality

A Thinkpad customer, Newegg
28 July 2013
  • Summary: I have owned three Thinkpads, none of them gave me any problem. This is the first time try a IdeaPad. very bad decision, Lenovo really needs to improve the quality to survive the competition.
  • Pros: as long as it works
  • Cons: very bad quality, the mouse stopped working in two months. Got a replacement and died again in half year. Now have to deal with all the hassles with service. will report back how is the service.

User Review

LK, Newegg
15 May 2013
  • Pros: pretty light, no fingerprint magnet material outside
  • Cons: CPU: A6-4455M is NOT capable of running 1080p videos easily. It often struggles and jitters here and there making the whole experience sub-par to i3 2nd generation and even to Core 2 Duo.

Terrible

N/A, Newegg
1 March 2013
  • Pros: The weight of the laptop is low. Maybe lighter than the Acer Aspire One AO756-4854 with an 11'' screen.
  • Cons: Build-n webcam and mic are HORRIBLE. I "upgraded" my Mom's Acer Aspire One AO756-4854 to the lenovo IdeaPad S405 with a "720p" camera... It looks like the protective plastic is still covering the webcam when I made sure it was 1000% removed. My webcam from 2001 had a better quality picture.

  • Pros: Sleek light weight
  • Cons: Very bad product slow startup, mouse pad works some times other times you have to strike a few times. Very slow processor my kindle is faster. Monitor colors are off or greyed out. I would not buy this product again. As far a my new egg experience if you have to return an item forget about it. Very slow in processing issue or problems. . I would not purchase from them again.

Bad

N/A, Newegg
21 February 2013
  • Summary: I was surprised by newegg's refusal to even speak with me about their defective product. In the past they've been helpful. Perhaps they're changing.
  • Pros: Looks very nice.
  • Cons: Laptop arrived with a piece of tape on one of the hinge covers. I pulled the tape, and the hinge cover came off. I called newegg. They REFUSED TO HELP ME. They wouldn't even talk with me about the problem. They said I needed to call Lenovo, which I did. After some deliberation, they replaced the laptop. On the new one, the touch pad and its left mouse button malfunctioned. Various people in their tech dept walked me through their ideas for fixing it. Some of the techi...

Bad product, worse service

N/A, Newegg
21 February 2013
  • Summary: Completely dissatisfied and hope to return this to Newegg within the 30 day period. I would say DO NOT BUY this or any Lenovo computer...the products are not well made and the customer service is hopeless.
  • Pros: Not sure.
  • Cons: Computer screen began to malfunction within a few weeks. Lenovo warranty folks are totally unhelpful. Their first response is to blame the owner. Totally pathetic.
