Summary: There is some error in the system somewhere - as soon as you open it, it starts filling in any empty field with the number 8 continuously. Password, search bar, everything. You can't clear the field faster than it can fill it up. As suggested I checked the key, thinking maybe something was stuck. I very gently pried up the key as per the directions (which, of course, broke) and still the 8s kept coming.
Summary: This is a pretty poor piece of kit. Windows 8 is okay - I don't have any issues with it. My complaint with this computer is that the battery life is stupidly low. I'm getting a little more than an hour, meaning that I pretty much leave it plugged in all the time - pointless for a laptop. The quality seems suspect - every now & again, the touch pad will stop working, sometimes it's the touchscreen which will stop..infuriating!
Summary: The machine was small and compact and seemed pretty good, but the touchpad made it practically unusable. I couldn't do anything without jumping pages like I had 12 fingers. I ended up with a chromebook instead and LOVE it.
Summary: I bought this Idea Pad for my daughter, however in just 2 months, the key board stopped functioning. Even I am typing this review with this idea pad and many keys are not working in one stroke. When I went on Amazon to return this product, it says return limit is expired (just 30 days) and there is no information about warranty, so at least I can fix this idea pad. This is not done, there is no clear message how and whom to contact in case if you ran in to any issue.
Summary: Keyboard started falling part in the first two months of owning it, and this wasn't from dragging the machine around or anything, I exclusively used it on my couch in my living room during that time period. Maybe I got a badly made one or something, but I'll be more cautious when purchasing any other Lenovo products in the future.
