  • Conclusion: The Lenovo IdeaPad S205 is a speedy, oversized netbook that can serve as primary laptop, but this configuration is a bit pricey compared to others in its class.
  • Pros: Good performance. Excellent display, keyboard. Plentiful storage space, RAM for a netbook. HDMI port onboard.
  • Cons: Small touchpad. Unimpressive battery life. Pricey configuration.

Lenovo IdeaPad S205

CNET
23 January 2012
  • Summary: Combining AMD's excellent ultraportable Fusion platform with Lenovo's consumer-friendly IdeaPad designs, the S205 is a solid, if unexciting, 11-inch laptop ideal for on-the-go Web surfing.
  • Cons: The touch pad is on the small side, and the same components can be found for a little less if you shop around. The system also includes a surprising amount of adware.

  • Excerpt: If you sometimes have difficulty sorting out Lenovo's ultraportable and netbook options, that's not surprising. Take the Lenovo IdeaPad S205 : it has an 11.6-inch, 1366-by-768-resolution LED-backlit display and integrated webcam , configured with the AMD Fusion E-350 CPU running at 1.6GHz and up to 8GGB of SDRAM (our test model has 4GB).

  • Excerpt: If you’re after something that’s easy to carry around but has enough power to deal with tasks beyond the everyday then the Lenovo IdeaPad S205-1038 is well worth considering. The cost of £340 certainly makes it very attractive, but there’s more to the IdeaPad than a low price tag.
