Summary: I owned this laptop for a little less then a year and suddenly it stopped working. I heard a pop and then it would not turn back on. I sent it into Lenovo for a repair assuming it was covered under warranty however the key word was assume.
Good laptop. Works with Ubuntu. Difficult to get dual boot working.

Summary: I bought this laptop about a month ago. It works good and I am happy with it so far. For its size it has a good battery light, is lightweight, and does not get to hot. The balance is a little off (like many other laptops) so when you open the lid the bottom of the laptops lifts up.
Summary: Purchased the lenovo 17”, Core i5, Win8 on it a while ago from elsewhere. Downloading 8.1 now, so supper SLOW. The mouse pad is most horrible. It jumps everywhere so making any selection very frustrating like going at the edge of the screen to select a function like turning the off the computer –...
Summary: I have a Lenovo desktop that's been great, so I was really looking forward to this laptop. The touchpad for the mouse is HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. When I called tech support they first tried getting me to do all sorts of setting changes, updates, etc.
Summary: Bought 2 of these computers, one for my Mom, one for myself. Mine died after 6 months (screen stays black). Took to shop and it will cost a at least $200 to fix, which is not worth it to me. My Mom's computer is working OK so far.
Pros: Great build. Very light. Awesome keyboard, very clicky! Not one of those really low raised ones that are hard to touch type on.
Cons: Slow harddrive. Absolute garbage. Once the memory runs out, and it runs out at somewhere around 3GB (64-bit system) it starts swapping to the harddrive, which is extremly slow, locking up the system whenever you try to do anything. If you open enough internet browser tabs you can easily permanent...
Summary: I much prefer when you have indicator lights - like hard drive, battery, ac adapter, caplocks etc. This has two pin sized lights on the front side but you can't tell what they are cuz they're so small. I can live with it I guess.
Summary: So here's the deal. I had a Dell Studio 15" purchased in Fall 2010. It had issues from the beginning and I should have returned it but alas did not. So, two hard drive crashes, broken screen brightness, and a mother board crash later...
Summary: I'm not one to post 1 star reviews. Why? Because I do significant research before buying and the G700 seemed to be the ticket. Negative complaints were often about Windows 8 which I can deal with, so I purchased a remanufactured one for a great price (relatively compared to new).
