Summary: I love this laptop, it's fast and reliable. Starts up quick and powers through all the medium games I through at it. For the price I got it at, $469 it's really a wonder why this isn't sold out. It boots in half the time my other Windows 7 laptop does, and in regards to people complaining about Windows 8.1, I love it. You don't have to use the start menu that is preferred by a touch screen user. You can simply boot it to desktop mode and keep it that way.
Summary: I got this for my husband as his first laptop. He does not use on much but needed to have a computer. He does not take it out of the house. It is heavy but... well constructed and meets all of his need. Probably not for the high tech geek like my son-in-law who helped me pick this one out. It was a balance of price and quality. This met both.
Summary: This computer is a good starter computer. It runs well for me, however I am not impressed by it's durability. You can just feel when you pick it up that it isn't very sturdy, and although I don't push hard when I type, I can see the entire mouse pad moving down when I use the middle keys. Still, it seems to work well for me, and as long as you aren't planning to use it heavily, I think it is a good computer.
Summary: While not the most powerful or fancy laptop, this is a very good laptop for the price. It's a great laptop for basic tasks such as web surfing, streaming media, email, and Microsoft Office. It can even play some less-demanding games, for example, I was able to play World of Warcraft and Left 4 Dead 2 at fairly acceptable frame rates on medium settings.
Summary: I just bought this computer, so I haven't had much time to play with it yet, but for the price it was the best pick for its specs and to still have a dvd drive. CON: They key board is advertised as being a perk for this laptop, but it definitely is not, it is very difficult to type accurately on it because the keys are all pretty flat, and the buttons do not depress smoothly, so its very easy to hit the wrong key or 2 keys at once.
Summary: I bought this as a Christmas gift for my daughter. She loves the performance of the hardware, but dislikes Windows 8. She upgraded to 8.1 but still isn't entirely satisfied. The laptop itself is lighter than her last one, with the same size screen, a much larger hard drive, more RAM out of the box, and better USB and wifi connectivity. She can even pick up and connect to a wifi signal from a public node half a mile away - in her basement!
Big screen allows this to replace desktop computer

Summary: Too big to tote around on a daily basis bit with a large screen so it can replace your desktop. Hate the home screen - won't let me easily choose to see the desktop as the default when powering on.
