Summary: Sound production is quite poor as well. Speakers crackle noticeably above 75/100, but that's fine for the price of the unit. If you're finicky, splurge and get a pair of speakers for $40.
Pros: runs decently smooth with the memory-intensive W8.1 OS; impressive keyboard feel for the price, convenient 10key, nice accessory buttons with the F# keys; runs quiet and cool; fairly decent screen display for the price.
Cons: touch pad is mediocre at best, and is obvious they cut corners here to shave off dolla billz. Specifically, the 2-finger scroll function is nonresponsive 10% of the time (a re-start is in order), and the buttons feel cheap. Hopefully they'll last longer than a year. Also, W8.1 has great shortcuts using the touch pad - swipe from the left to pull up all running apps, swipe from right for access to settings, etc... however, the too-far-to-the-left placement of the touch...
Summary: I am not a big fan of Windows 8 but with Classic Shell installed I can live with it. Overall it is a pretty stable operating system. The computer came with Windows version 8 installed and it required some 68 patches to get it current. Then once you get it current then you can go through the process of updating it to version 8.1.
Pros: Price was very reasonable for a quad core processor equipped the way that this one is.
Cons: This machine was loaded down with trial ware that I removed immediately. I sure wish that manufacturers wouldn't load new machines down with so much junk.
Summary: Pros: Amazing build, very comfortable keyboard, fast A10 processor, decent graphics, PRICE Cons: Fan makes more sound than it should at times, battery life a little lower than expected Great value for the price. Will likely buy Lenovo again in the future!
Pros: Light weight, Good keyboard for typing, Dedicated memory (2GB), LED back light display, lots of ports for input devices, WIFI, Bluetooth, DVD drive, Quad core processor. Easy to take off maintenance back cover (for cleaning case fans and mother board and replacing RAM and hard drive) Quality stereo speakers (Dolby Advanced Audio). Overall a very nice laptop. To be honest I was surprised it ran any games at ALL.. Most of laptops at this price range sell with less featu...
Cons: I don’t know where should I start…The laptop has a slow 5400 rpm hard drive, It only comes with 4GB of RAM and comes with windows 8 (windows 7 is better). The laptop comes with Lenovo bloat ware that just takes up hard drive space and uses RAM. Laptop often lags if you have multiple windows open and gets really HOT. The GPU is not fully utilized when running games. Even after disabling all unnecessary background apps and processes and changing all the possible settings...
Summary: I had heard that windows 8 was terrible. Its was much easier than people said. A few things were annoying, but over all it just took getting use to. The computer itself was a good buy for the money.
Summary: First of all I want to say that is an awesome little machine for the money. Like other people have stated the specs on this thing put it out in front of many of the other laptops on the market in this price range. I looked at a ton of different laptops before settling on this one. I agree with the windows 8 comment. The laptop hardware wise can keep up with it and it runs fine, however Windows 8 itself sucks with anything that doesn't have a touchscreen IMO.
Summary: Didn't buy it here. Aside from being a little on the heavy side and having a really touchy mouse pad this computer is pretty good. Fast processor, nice screen and keyboard. Took it with me on vacation and had no problem connecting to WiFi any where it was available. Windows 8 is terrible but that's not the fault of the computer, would recomend Lenovo over Dell anyday. Have not had to contact Tech support for anything yet so that remains to be seen.
