Good price, not great performance

T. Brock, Amazon
  • Summary: I bought this laptop to replace my aging machine and, while it does the job for basic computing, I find myself getting frustrated often at the machine. It takes a long time to load Win 8.1.

Nice, inexpensive laptop - but the keyboard is a little strange

D. Freeman, Amazon
5 March 2014
  • Summary: Good laptop, does what it's supposed to do. The only real problem is that the keyboard in the numerical keypad area is configured strangely, which makes it difficult to use.

It's ok

Everett, Amazon
1 March 2014
  • Summary: I was excited with the specs of this computer when I got it but have been a little disappointed with performance. I got this as a replacement for my four year old Dell laptop that runs Vista. The Dell outperformes it with the little stuff like logging in users and opening basic programs like Chrome. For some reason when I switch users the screen goes black for about forty seconds before lighting back up.

I hate the mouse

Anne Silberman, Amazon
28 February 2014
  • Summary: The mouse is either too sensitive or not sensitive enough. Sometimes I barely touch it, and it moves! Other times it feels like I'm pushing my finger too hard on it. And, I just hate Windows 8.

Good laptop overall

James, Amazon
7 February 2014
  • Summary: My wife uses the laptop for pleasure-Netflix, simple games, etc. I use it for graduate school. It serves both our purposes well. The touchscreen is awesome and very accurate and sensitive! I was worried about it scratching easily but after the use and abuse we have given it so far it has performed flawlessly. The overall performance is great and we haven't had any issues with it, unlike ones we have had in the past.

Bought 2, had to return 1.

Hm, Amazon
11 January 2014
  • Summary: I bought units for each of my high schoolers. One of the 2 units had difficulty connecting to the internet. I assumed naturally that it was our own router and spent several hours re-starting and with tech support. Finally, I tried connecting at a public wifi and determined that it was the unit itself. The computer business being what it is, that particular model was no longer available from the same vendor.

Lenovo Lap Top

Jay Gillespie, Amazon
9 January 2014
  • Summary: Purchased it for my wife for Christmas, but I've used it a couple of times especially for the purpose of setting the unit up with on line tech support because the product came with a, " 30 day trial of McAfee". It's kind of a short time frame to try an anti virus program when one spends so much on the system to begin with, but I guess that's to be expected. Personally, I'm not real crazy with the Lenovo Keyboard.

Keyboard stopped working within 20 minutes of use

Laura R, Amazon
31 December 2013
  • Summary: I LOVE Lenovo computers. I have recommended it anyone looking for a laptop for years. This one leaves me stumped though! I sent it in to the depot and hopefully they can fix it. My husband thought I was crazy to buy it through Amazon's FLASH SALE...perhaps he was right.

Lenovo G500 15.6-inch Laptop

Althusius "Althusius", Amazon
31 December 2013
  • Summary: This is a great laptop for watching live events, especially when hooked up to a TV. It's a little hard to get used to, but with persistence it can be accomplished. It has a nice variety of features for the price. The Microsoft updating process can be inconveniently intrusive when you are doing something else like watching something. And, for someone with a physical handicap that effects their manual dexterity, the Office sign-on process is prohibitive.
