Summary: It's a great laptop, the only 2 quirks I have found is: 1) You can't permanently turn off the touchpad. I use a mouse so I have to disable it every time I boot up AND after it goes to sleep or else I can't type, the touchpad screws up my typing. My old laptop have a button over the touchpad that disabled it. 2) It frequently gives me the error that I'm running low on recovery disk space so I have to go in and delete the old backup files.
Summary: I bought this to replace a stolen laptop. I am not a fan of Win8 and had to search a while to find just the right combination of features to meet my needs. This one did not disappoint. Other reviews speak of screen issues etc, but I haven't had anything like than in the several months I have owned this one. I am not a gamer - so I cannot speak to the graphics quality etc.
Summary: I bought the Lenovo B590 to replace my wife's aging IBM T60 laptop. The T60 was running XP and had only 2G of memory. I don't want to spend the money to upgrade the memory and Windows 7 OS on this fairly slow laptop. If you don't have too high of expectation on a $430 laptop, this B590 would be fine for everyday basic tasks like email, word processing, and web surfing. I guess the letter B in the model number must be stand for Basic or Budget.
Summary: I bought this as a replacement for an 11 year old Windows XP machine for my 81 year old Dad. I chose this Win 7 machine as I believed it to be the easiest transition for him...and because I'm not yet a fan of Win 8. I worked with it about 12-15 hours over the course of a few days visit to get it to the place where he can use it easily. Compared to the 11 year old machine...this is a speed demon.
