It feels more like a VCR than a laptop but it is what ...
2 September 2014
Summary: The laptop casing is clearly cheaply made. It feels more like a VCR than a laptop but it is what is to be expected for the price. If you drop it, it will crack. The plastic is super thin. The touchpad is extremely touchy and often causes the the browser to zoom in and out multiple times within a few minutes. Occasionally the buttons will freeze for a few seconds. The keyboard is cramped but you get used to it.
Summary: I've only had this for a 24 hours, so this is my initial impression. I needed a simple laptop for my hobby, so this works for that purpose. Overall the product has a flimsy feel and the edges of the computer are sharp and uncomfortable when you rest your palm against it. I would not recommend this as a business machine you would travel with. I am not sure it would hold up to the bumps and bruises of the airline overhead bins.
Number and Cap-lock screen icons are very annoying

Summary: This is my first Lenovo laptop and I am very annoyed to find out that whenever the cap lock and/or number lock is engaged, there is an 3/4" icon in the lower right side of the display on every screen you go to. As a person who is used to the number lock always being engaged, this one feature is almost enough to make me want to return the machine and go back to a Toshiba. A green light on the keyboard is very sufficient to let me know about something like this.
mostly silent operation but noisy keyboard and glossy screen
11 May 2014
Summary: Initial setup of the laptop when it first arrived was very easy and it didn't install bloatwares automatically. It did ask about installing this and that but I could just say no and it obeyed. The keyboard is surprisingly noisy, it could be a problem at night if you do not want to disturb others while typing. The laptop surfaces are not glossy but the screen is. The build quality is somewhat cheap, it doesn't have a stylish look.
Summary: I was surprised that the OS windows 7 would not support my old but preferred version of Office 2003. I have a desk-top with windows 7 that operates office 2003 and that's the reason I was surprised. The major factor I chose the Lenovo was containment of windows 7 and anticipated compatibility with older software, so this is disappointing. I haven't tried to install other older software, but I expect roblems.
Summary: I was happy it arrived as quickly as it did, but I find it to be VERY slow loading internet pages and just responding online in general. I am a little disappointed, but not bad for the price...
Summary: Great little laptop, i got this one and the more powerfull brother G510 http://amzn.to/1ejUtt7. Goes great with the amazon basics wireless mouse, it even matches colors http://amzn.to/1edrzQF took 2 stars out because the more powerfull brother (4th gen core i3 and 6gb of ram) is only 60 usd more.
Summary: I received this laptop yesterday. I find the screen to be blurry/fuzzy. I've looked online for a possible fix, but have not found anything. The resolution/etc. is all set on the "recommended" setting. Any suggestions..??
