Summary: Bought this unit on the advice of a trusted computer saavy friend. I am still coming to terms with Windows 8 (learning curve) but I like the tiles and the touchscreen. I don't use the tiles as much as I do the plain old browser. (prefer Mozilla to Netscape) I bought a sound bar from Logitech...I stream a lot of video and need better sound than the adequate basic speakers the unit comes with can provide. Image is nice and crisp.
Summary: I hate buying a generic black laptop - in the past, I've found a peacock blue one and a bright red one (both Toshibas). I've been a loyal customer of Toshiba but reviews for their laptops haven't been so great lately, so I took a chance with Lenovo. I'm very pleased with this laptop overall - the chocolate color is more subtle than past laptops, but still unique. Setup was easy and I like the slightly raised keys on the keyboard.
Summary: I have had this laptop for months now and I absolutely love it. The only drawback is the battery life. It doesn't last quite as long as some other laptops. Overall, it's a fine laptop for me (a college student and online shopping addict). This would be great for anyone! One more thing: the picture is more brown than the actual computer. You can barely tell its brown, only in certain lights. But, the color barely even matters.
Summary: Lenovo blew it on the restore procedure, warning!
Pros: Good LCD screen LED backlight, decent brightness/average view angle. Keyboard is pretty good. Lenovo has a site forum for help.
Cons: WARNING: Lenovo's official method (on Win 8 models) to make a restore USB thumb drive (you can't make restore DVDs) DOES NOT WORK, it's a known problem, check the forums. If you buy this, you need to hassle with Lenovo to get restore disks BEFORE warranty goes out.
Summary: Great laptop all around. Good with gaming, phenominal all around/....... EXCEPT.. Came pre installed with Mcaffe or whatever and when I deleted McAffe (Internet protector crap, most internet options for security are pre-loaded into a pc) it messed with my files a bit. Dunno why, but was very irritating. However, Lenovo is a very good company. And I STRONGLY recommend this for ANY PC user. Do not spend a lot of money on a Wal-Mart brand. Get the best. Forget the rest.
