Older laptop at a good value, but cumbersome

Ethan J., Amazon
25 February 2015
  • Summary: A competent laptop that promises good value for the price. The predominant drawback to this laptop is its bulky nature; it's heavy and cumbersome compared to some of the newer laptops and tablets and hybrids of the two currently on the market.

Worst laptop I've ever owned

ITSGWEN, Amazon
7 January 2015
  • Summary: Worst laptop I've ever owned! The hinges are faulty and have been almost from the start. Now it won't even close and this computer does not travel, does not have frequent use and has not been abused, it only stays at home!

Slow Slow Slow

breese kienle, Amazon
4 September 2014
  • Summary: Bought this laptop at Fry's because it was dirt cheap. I've regretted the purchase ever since. This laptop is extremely slow. It likes to stall for about 5 seconds, about every 3 minutes or so. Every program I've ever ran on this has crashed or not responded until I finally give up and close it.

  • Summary: This system started out as a basic computer to use when teaching at an online high school. It helped me advance from a tutor to a teacher, teaching Physics, Digital Arts, Psychology, and a number of supplemental courses. It has proven easy to upgrade, and usually reliable.

Check out the hinge screws every month

T. Mayer "Just a customer", Amazon
6 March 2014
  • Summary: The G575 works great except they don't put any locktite on the two hidden screws that hold the hinges on. As a result the screws fall out after about 8 months use and where the hinges screw into the base snaps. Every time you open the lid the case opens up along the seam in the back.

Would not recommend

M. Downing, Amazon
20 October 2013
  • Summary: I would definitely not purchase this laptop again. I've had trouble from day 1 with crashing/blue screen. I've called the help number, but have not had satisfaction. Maybe mine is just a lemon and not all are like mine.

  • Summary: After several IBM thinkpads, 3 Lenova netbooks,I was confident about buying 2 of these G575's. Big mistake. Within days of the 1 year warranty expiring, both computers became paperweights, crashing 2 days apart.
