Excerpt: Got this laptop during some kind of promtion couple of months back from Lenevo itself after our sweet thinkpad crashed unexpectedly. Was totally suprised by the look it hen we recieved it in mail ! I totally loved the sleek look of the screen and the light weightness of the laptop. It is more of a mulitmedia kinda laptop so, my dh really doesnt prefer it. Has few bugs like login issues and some software installations.
Excerpt: I got a brand new system and the first day itself without too many applications running on it, it started heating up. its been up for around 3 hours or so. Also lenovo has a bad service. It takes more than a month to deliver the product. It ships from China. Doesnt care from where it ships but more than a month for a p;roduct sucks. But for the price of 500 bucks its what you get.
Summary: This Laptop is over all good. Mine does overhead ones in a while, but i play games on it, so i suppose that's to be expected. Overall, it is, however, a decent laptop, battery-lasting time is ok if you run it on low settings, graphic is good ect.
Summary: I've now had that Lenovo G550 laptop for little over 3 years. I bought it directly from the Lenovo website. I used it only for schooling and as such some features I didn't fully explore (such as the graphics card) Here's what I've found. THE GOOD: -Cheap -Windows 7 -User friendly -not a lot of bloatware -Good battery -veri-face software is very secure -multiple usb ports -disc drive -10keys -up to date when first purchased -webcam with easy to use technology -volume...
Summary: I bought this laptop 10 months ago. I like it because its screen is 16:9 which lets me have many windows open; the numpad is the most helpful thing ever (I work a lot with numbers); it doesn't make much noise; its case is very strong (one of the more important things for me because I'm very tough and it has received many hits and continues working); and it came with the software advertised.
Summary: The keyboard makes a clicking noise. It operates and functions like one of those old Buckling-spring keyboard. You know the kind that had springs underneath the keys. That can be annoying for some, but it does help eliminate keyboard flex. The so called keyboard flex on this laptop is actually more like bounce than a flex. In other words, it bounces back ever so slightly. The LCD screen has very, very good brightness and contrast.
Summary: I purchased this in Feb., The Windows 7 came and in order to load it, the instruction said to delete the preloaded Windows Xp and all other programs - well, no other disks came with the laptop - so I could never load Windows 7. Now, I have a virus and in order to get rid of it I need to reload the operating system, well guess what ? I don't have the disks. This was a $500 loss! Lenova should have included all the disks .
Summary: I bought this, in part, due to price. I am very pleasantly surprised by the machine's performance. The screen has a large "feel" and it is very responsive to keys and the touchpad. Several other reviewers have mentioned low-volume speakers. This is only a problem in Windows. Any other OS gives good volume in the speakers. I have no idea why this might be, but it's probably a driver issue.
Summary: Overall this is a good machine with some feature issues. Long Battery life It is fast Display is great very strudy for the daily life with kids around Windows 7 runs great Never had machine related issues Battery never gets hot even after using for more than one hour like other laptops But there is one annoying thing in this computer... Keyboard and Mouse pad. Keyboard is very hard to type because I need to press exactly in the middle.
