Summary: Over the past year or so, this laptop has served me extremely well. As an incoming college student, I needed something powerful enough to serve its day-to-day functions extremely competently while not draining what little money I had. And on that front, the Lenovo G500s worked wonderfully. The performance was much better than I expected going in, and it held up rather well for quite a while.
Pros: + Powerful for the price, runs some lesser AAA video games on low settings
Cons: - Dreadful build quality, at the time of writing the charger port has completely broken free from the casing, which makes just plugging this thing in a struggle. The case itself is loosely put together and no amount of screw tightening can fix it.
Summary: It's terrible and I pretty much regret buying this
Pros: Cost wasn't toobad
Cons: Had to buy another network card because the internal one would drop internet connection constantly, keyboard keys would stop working, windows 8 is godawful, not as fast I thought it would be and would lag in most programs
Summary: For the price, it's a nice laptop indeed. I wish they put on a better monitor though..not impressed with this one but I can see things and watch my videos so I can't complain much. It has all the featuers I need and gets the job done, which is primarily light-duty work such as notes, videos, and such. I use my desktop for the heavier stuff like VMs and games and such. This is definitely a sturdy laptop.
Pros: Sturdy, i5 CPU, very nice keyboard, BIOS button, USB 3.0 and an extra 2.0 port on the right side for your mouse
Cons: Screen is rather poor; even the slightest angle off will create that glare you get from looking at a screen from an angle. The touchpad has a springy sound to it, but nothing that kills me. Oddly, the function keys won't work unless you use the Fn key..never seen a laptop like that. Works good for the media keys though which don't require the Fn key to be held. I've come to like the idea more since I use the media keys more than the function keys. Though it's annoying...
Summary: I am not computer savvy at all but it seems like an awesome laptop for a tight budget.
Pros: Runs great, have not had any issues so far. Has the number key pad on the right. It was easy to navigate. I am used to extremely slow and ancient lap tops so this computer seems stellar comparatively.
Cons: The key pad was a little different than I am used to but you adapt quickly.
Pros: I bought this for my fiance to replace a 5 year old Dell Inspiron. She loves it. She uses it for class, mostly, so she doesn't need a lot of power. It sips power and lasts for over 4 hours with what she uses it for. She'll occasionally watch video, but that's about it. It's super quiet and never gets hot. All in all, I'm happy with the purchase.
