Summary: Having worked in an IT environment where IBM Thinkpads were standard issue, both for us and for our customers, it was easy for me to choose a T41 when I wanted to replace my clunky old home desktop. The T41 was tested in space and in arduous conditions all over the world. It's not pretty but it is tough.
Summary: The only reason ive given this four stars against five is because this is the American version,(dollar signs etc.)against the good old pound sign.otherwise i can't fault it for the limited things i want it to do,email ,google, etc.its plenty fast enough for that.
Summary: This laptop fulfilled all of my expectations. There are a couple of minor issues, however, it doesn't prevent me from using all of the laptop's functionality. I feel that I have definitely got good value for money.
Summary: Hello,. I bought this Laptop over few weeks ago.. on 2nd thoughts maybe going for 1old Dell's would been just good. Anyway my only main gripe with this Laptop on mine is that the Wifi is always on.. even when I press the apporiate Fn + ? buttons it will not turn off! The Wifi light thus is always flickers on it.. Also another prob is the Memory. It is that old type now DDR1 that in my view to expensive to upgrade this laptop even 1Gb stick of memory.
Summary: mixed reviews.it was advertised as wifi and blue tooth ready.the wifi is a belkin card and i can't find the blue tooth.probably nit picking as i have figured it all out and after enabling everything i finally got on line.seems it must have at some time been in an office, and all on-line content had been disabled.i upgraded the ram menory to 1 gig and what a machine i've now got.it was originally priced at £1400 and believe me it is like a rolls royce to work on.
Excerpt: INTRODUCTION I bought myself a used IBM / Lenovo Thinkpad T41 for £129 and although it's a pretty old machine (probably from 2004) and fairly low spec by today's standards, I still feel it was a bargain. This was from Cash Converters. DESIGN The machine, like all IBM (now made by Lenovo) notebooks are intended for business users and so the design is not particularly sleek but instead, have a very 'professional' look to them.
Pros: Speedy, Robust, Good graphics card, Connectivity
Cons: Not the prettiest of designs, Annoying keyboard layout w/ no Windows key and Fn/Ctrl key placement
