Excerpt: I saw the HP TouchSmart Tx2 Notebook PC on a late night infomercial and decided to buy it. I was very excited when I initially got it. It was small, sleek just what I needed for travel. After a few months several keys fell off which I had to send to HP to get replaced. The power strip also stopped working after a about three months. The battery life is very short so you better have a power source for travel. If you play on-line games this is not the laptop to play on.
after the first few weeks, you can see why this is so cheap.

Excerpt: First things first, I bought this thing for educational purposes. I like the tablet idea I really do, but this computer is not right for everyone. I will start with the pros first. Pros: First things first is that this thing is packed with features. It has a webcam, fingerprint reader, buttons on the screen, two mics, a remote control, etc. Basically, it has everything that you would want but never really use.
Summary: This thing sucks for real. I wanted something more update to finish my lasts three classes because my gateway was running a little slower. The features are great but not even two weeks of having this thing my operating files became corrupt. I can't even log on now and even though its under warranty hp charge for shipping. I guess I was spoiled with gateway. I should have stuck with them. Whats the good in having all the fancy stuff and can't enjoy it.
Summary: A month before my warranty ran out I started having problems with my power. My battery would sometimes not recharge, and when I'd plug my adapter in, it would make my computer run slow. I called customer support, spoke with them for 1 hour, they did a bunch of garbage fixes that didn't solve my problem, and then asked me if I wanted to renew my warranty. I told them if they could fix my problem before the warranty expired, I would renew it. The month has gone by.
Summary: My spouse and I each bought one before Christmas. We returned them after using them for a day. Being avid iPad users, we found the screen sensitivity horrible. As an example, I'd click the start button with my finger three or four times before it actually opened it up. My husband's computer was the same. The pen interface was really good; although it to would occasionally suffer from the lag as well.
Returned to HP. A few simple changes would fix this design.

Summary: I've had other tablet PCs in the past and I'm a firm believer in them. This unit from HP is fairly decent except that it has 1 flaw that was the deal-breaker for me: The touchpad does not have physical buttons. I'm a two handed touchpad users. I move the cursor with one hand, and I put the buttons with the other hand. This tablet is cost reduced so that there is only 1 button under the touchpad for the mouse button emulation.
Summary: The laptop works fine, screen does not work well with viewing. Ie: size. Mouse pad is alittle un responsive. Hate the engraved design, to girlie. Would not recommend this laptop for work. Gave it to my daughter and went out and bought ipad. Over all windows 7 is great.
