Summary: The company I work for has about a dozen of these & while they might have a chance at holding up okay under occasional usage they aren't designed well enough to be moved around & used everyday.
I paid $900 for what should be an awesome laptop, but it has been a big disappointment

Summary: I paid $900 for what should be an awesome laptop, but it has been a big disappointment, has eaten up tons of my time, and HP is no help. I bought a refurbished but pristine spectre from HP via Amazon. When it arrived, the battery was absolutely faulty - the laptop would not run unless plugged in.
Summary: Lid is flimsk and creaks/clicks. Webcam has never worked properly. The few times that it did work it was completely fuzzy with horizontal blue lines running up and down. It disconnects every time I touch the lid which makes the usb-disconnect warning sound. I had to disable it in the device manager.
Summary: I will limit this review to two things: Linux and the touchpad. Once I disabled UEFI, I installed Ubuntu 13.04 on the SpectreXT without problem and everything worked out of the box (bluetooth, wifi, webcam...). So that's a good thing.
Quality of hinges and its maximum opening angle are not good. rest is OK

Summary: You know you have got only 128GB out of which few gigs are already reserved for system recovery. Its recommended to burn your recovery disks (or use some recovery program like Macrium Reflect) to help building an external recovery media.
Summary: I wanted a lightweight, fast notebook for work - no gaming, no video streaming nor fancy multimídia app. And this HP delivers that well. The cockpit is really nice and the 100% based SSD storage is incredibly fast.
